Very moving, sad to learn about the deaths of the faithful. Beautiful place. Cathedral is smaller version of Liverpool's catholic cathedral, Paddy's wigwam.

Not sure why this is listed as Kathedrale, rather than Cathedral which it's meant to be. Anyway, the building itself is interesting, but tired and rather sad. There are a few plaques and interesting objects of former colonial times. The most interesting thing for me was the graveyard - but this is in dire need of some simple garden maintenance. And quite frankly, with all the people looking for something to do, it wouldn't cost much to sort it out. Overgrown graves, long grasses, really a pity - especially as historically there are some very important people laid to rest here.

During this visit, there was a lot of scaffolding as they were giving the outside a good cleaning. Still, beautiful setting and a unique interior (look up!). It's never clear whether you are welcome to go in or not. I would suggest trying all the doors! If one is open, someone will tell you if you shouldn't be there. If there is a service in process, please be respectful and don't flash!
