“Love the coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

I usually go to Cafesserie on weekends to pick up my coffee! Never a disappointment. You can take away your coffee at a reasonable price. Love the ambience too. Great place

“Great Food, Great Staff, Well-Managed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

The management and staff were SO responsive, thorough, and honest in regards to groundnuts and helping us find safe choices for my son and his gnut allergy I was absolutely taken aback. Frankly, I'm not sure I've had better or more thorough communication in a Kampalan restaurant yet. We felt like they really understood the concern, the stakes, the issue of cross-contamination. Honestly communicating about this life-threatening issue makes us feel like a jerk sometimes but the alternative is never eating out. And we've tried that. And we do avoid it, but once a week it's nice to go out as a family. It is a safe place for us.

But not only that. the food is great. I really like their coffee. I've had the chicken breast with mashed potatoes twice. The flavor was actually slightly different between the two times (a bit over salted the second time maybe), but very good. Food came out hot! The pear and gorgonzola salad also very good, refreshing. One suggestion would be to use a touch less dressing.

My family and I have been here twice. The food is great. We've always enjoyed. The atmosphere is really classy, very clean. Would love an afternoon alone to spend there with a book and a coffee or a date wit my husband on the outdoor terrace (one can dream ;).

The staff really were so courteous, thoughtful, aware, and helpful. They have made a fan of us, we'll be back whenever in Kissimenti.

“Very average food for such a lovely setting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2014

My husband and I tried this restaurant twice after it opened. The setting attracted us and looks similar to the Artcaffe in Nairobi. Good choice on menu but food served was a disappointment. Both grilled and roast chicken dishes are very bland, no distinctive herbs to bring out the taste. The pesto chicken pasta had too much sauce with too little pasta. The tomato sauce used on the base for pizza tasted more fast-foody than italian because of the sweet tangy flavour.
The waiters/waitresses are all over the place, as though they are not assigned their own tables, most of them not knowing the contents of the menu. The seating is slightly cramped, tables are fairly close to one another. The restaurant decor however is fantastic. Cafesserie as a restaurant/cafeteria is half way there but hasn't reached it's full potential. Can understand why it is still so busy as there are very limited choices of good places to eat in Kampala.

“Best pizzas in Kampala”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

The food here is great - the tiramisu is amazing and the hummous and bread is gorgeous (and good value at only 11,000 UGX!) Overall this place isn't the cheapest, but neither is it the most expensive, and you really do get your money's worth. The pizza's are great, and huge. The salads are a bit stingey and probably best ordered as a side rather than a meal (although they're expensive for just a side). The staff are great - having some small teething problems occasionally but really trying hard and taking on feedback. We once waited quite a while for a meal but then got a free dessert to make up for it, so didn't mind.

“Excellent lunch venue”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

Really impressed with the quality and service so soon after opening. Visited for lunch on Friday and had the most divine smoked salmon bagel. Latte was not quite what I was expecting and the wine could have been a little more chilled but over all, for Kampala the service was excellent. Will definitely be back and expect it to go from strength to strength.
