“Temple in The City”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Built by the King's mother in the memory of the 3rd King who passed away at the age of 48. A busy and crowded temple, many came to pray and circle the temple from right to left 3times, for luck.

Few traders selling souvenirs, carvings and incense at the entrance

“Not as impressive as rest of the Dzongs in Thimpu”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Due to the locale of this Dzong, this is one of the temples which are more crowded than the rest. You will find a lot of local people(mostly elderly) as well visiting for their daily prayers. You won't be missing much even if you skip this.

“I like the "flag" matches”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

I happened to attend the "flag-match" at the Chorten in the afternoon. It was so interesting.
It is a daily event, everyday at 5PM I think. Don't miss it :-)

“More exciting things in Thimphu to see”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

Its OK I guess for the quick visit you usually get to it, but plenty of more exciting things to see and if you just drive past I think most would be happy, except for those who like standing in front of everything to have their photo taken.

“Yet another impressive temple.”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 via mobile

This temple was built by King Jigme who was known as the father of Modern Bhutan. The architecture is something different. Its walking distance from the thimphu town area.I saw a huge number of senior citizens praying and worshiping.
