“Great for history buffs!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

This is a beautiful setting with the boyhood home (in it's original location), museum, library and burial site. I'm just blown away by comments from those who complain about the focus on history and particularly WWII... these comments tend to reflect a total lack of understanding of the importance that WWII played in Gen. Eisenhower's legacy! It was the period of his greatest impact and he would never have been President without it. Museums are all about history, that should be why you go!

Staff was very friendly, the exhibits are well laid out and very informative. It takes time to understand and appreciate the giants of history, this isn't a drive through and shouldn't be.

“Not a History Buff”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

I really didn't like this museum. It is very heavy on history and lots of reading. Of course it goes over much of Dwight D. Eisenhower's presidency. I just couldn't get myself to enjoy walking through here. There are many exhibits. It is nicely laid out. If you don't thoroughly enjoy political/historical concepts in general this probably isn't the best pick. It does take quite a while to walk through and look at everything. It is very reminiscent of other presidential museums. The 'I like Ike' slogan will certainly stick with you.

“Allow time to take it all in”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Definitely need at least 1/2 day to absorb all the exhibits. Start with the movie and then tour his boyhood home. The museum involves a lot of reading and study.

As others have said-heavy on WW2- and rightfully so. Not for small children,IMO.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

My husband and I visited the Eisenhower Library and Museum in June. The information presented is huge and there is so very much to try to absorb. At least 3/4 of the museum appeared to be dedicated to WW II. It was all very well done and would take many many hours to really appreciate all that is presented. This was only the second presidential museum that we had ever visited....FDR's being the first. After leaving, my husband commented....how could our presidents library's and museums after IKE ever compete with this?
