I returned to Dechenling more times during my month in Nepal. Lovely surroundings, great food and devoted & professional staff headed by welcoming manager Purnima!

“Great place!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

The food was very good, we enjoyed it a lot - especially the naan bread was extremely delicious!
Service was also very friendly and helpful, gave good recommendations! (e.g. to take half rice and bread in the indian set, as rice will be enough in that as well...)
What is really great about this restaurant is the beautiful garden! It has a really nice atmosphere and with candles it as a great place to spend a relaxing evening.

“Always a favorite”
Reviewed 24 May 2014 via mobile

It's always been a favourite when I am in Nepal. Visited the resturant after couple of years and wasn't dissappointed. The service was great and the food was amazing as always. The best part is the ambiance and being a garden resturant its the best spot to chill out with friends in the outdoors, especially in summer. They have wood fire during winter, so great for any season. Indoor seating are also available. Their pork dumpplings are my favorite. Will recommend this amazing place, tucked away in the heart of Thamel, a major tourist destination in Kathmandu.

“Great place for a drink stop off in the chaos of KTM”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

This garden café/restaurant is tucked away in Thamel and is my favourite place to go for a drink and a bite to eat when we are in town and wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle. It's a beautiful spot, gorgeous gardens, superbly clean bathroom facilities, and covered outdoors tables and chairs. We usually have drinks and snacks and can recommend the momos, chow mein, chilli, thukpa etc. Just a great spot to go with friends and family right in the centre of KTM but also get some peace and chillout time too.

“Excellent place for afternoon drinks”
Reviewed 19 May 2014

Just outside the bustle of Thamel, in a quiet garden (unless the diesel powered aggregates are switched on), this is an excellent place to chill or work or for a business meeting with good coffee or an early beer. Great staff, and best of all, no plastic chairs.
Good Tibetan food here too. It's a bit more costly compared to other Thamel places but well worth it.
