This hotel is a really nice place, clean rooms, satellite TV, friendly staff. Good views from the large comfy rooms, and an hour's internet access per day free of charge.

Traveled in Nepal in 2008 and this was the first hotel i stayed in. I made no reservation (no real need in Nepal) and was taken directly there by taxi from the airport. The taxi driver will try and sell you treks etc. ... get used to this as you are in the land of trekking : )

Rates are reasonable and flexible, rooms are typical of the rest of Nepal on a traveler budget. Staff are friendly and helpful, and stay off your case if you wish. We found them great people with plenty of advice on how to do just about everything, and evil chess players.

We stayed for a week, left our bags for eleven days while on the Langtang trek (recommended during April) then recovered here for a further three or four days. Everything is here, internet and international phone, plus a high roof terrace where you can chill out with a everest beer, a cold one if you are lucky.

Best thing about this place is the location, turn right and you are two minutes from the centre of Thamel, where you will find everything you need. Turn left and you can sample some great food at the nearby chef trainee restaurant. This place is excellent, but further along and you can get tasty momos before exploring Kathmandu for countless hours.

Rooms are sparse but adequate, if a bit creaky. The power is as reliable as everyone else in Nepal, but you can get the ipod charged. Hot water is around in the morning. They lent me a TV on my birthday!
