The hotel is situated 30 seconds from the best part of Thamel. Sagar (front desk man) is very very helpful and friendly. Biken (Manager) is so sweet, if heading to Chitwan ask him about his fantastic hotel there (Parklands)....Basu (other manager) is great and has a travel agency down the road that treks to Everest and others....Hotel is clean, nice, safe, really good value for money....go here!!

See you later alligator...

Travellers Inn is in Thamel, downtown of Kathmandu so we can reach to any restaurants, shopping area and other things so easily. The room is new and clean with soft carpet, hot water, TV and wifi. Their beds really good one and comfortable especially for the double room which will have some light from outside thru the curtain.. make the room beautiful and make us want to stay in the room for all day. The only thing this hotel doesn't have is the restaurant, anyway we can ask the staff to buy anything and delivery for us to eat inside the room or on the roof top, which there some tables to sit, eating, drinking and see the view of Kathmandu Valley especially for sunset time .. So Beautiful and romantic. The staffs are very friendly and honest and service 24 hrs. The hotel is also have another service like provide all transportation in Nepal, sightseeing and trekking, hiking service which they cooperate with some Tour operators such as Nepal Social Treks which is a very good one. Also the service like flight ticket, train ticket or any tickets.

Room Tip: Try rooftop room or any double room

The hotel was clean and staff were polite and exceptionally friendly. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms and bathrooms were a decent size.
The location is good, in the heart of Thamel, but at the end of a dead-end street, so relatively quiet.
Basu, the owner, picked us up at the airport and went out of his way to satisfy all of our requests. He managed to recover my luggage that the airline had lost, ringing the airport every day and collecting it when it finally arrived.
The room rate included two bottles of water per day and fresh fruit on arrival. Staff were happy to order food from nearby restaurants and bring it up to the rooms and book taxis for us. They also gave us a map and provided helpful information on sightseeing.
The neighbourhood dogs were rather noisy several nights, so I wouldn't advise sleeping with the windows open. Traffic, on the other hand, eased off considerably at night, so honking horns and noisy engines weren't a problem.
The hotel's generator powers emergency lights in both the rooms and bathrooms that can be used during the frequent power cuts.
I'd certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 301 seemed to have the best wi-fi reception!

One of the best hotels in Kathmandu. It's situated in heart of Thamel, at a walking distance from Narayanhiti Palace and Garden of Dreams. Since there was no in-house restaurant, the owner was kind enough to arrange whatever we wanted within no time. Internet & Tea/Coffee were free. Rooms were clean, well carpeted and it is rare for a budget hotel to have bathtubs. Amazingly friendly staff. They will guide you the best and not like others, who try to take maximum out of your pocket.
Hotel has its own caravan and can arrange best site-seeing and camping solutions. The best part was that the owner is a part of an organization, which helps poor kids in villages. They take people for trekking to those remote places. So with them, you get to see the rare and hidden Nepal.
Rooms are small, but give you more than what a budget hotel can give.
In short, this is a hidden gem and you must stay here.

We stayed here on arriving in Kathmandu and on leaving and came back early so that we could stay somewhere clean. Clean tidy rooms, great location for shopping and 5 minutes walk from the tourist bus depot. Very helpful staff, who organised our bus to Pokhara and taxi etc when needed. . Easy to get to from airport and taxis always around.
