A Place to visit while seeking inner peace or into to oneself. Located in middle of everywhere, with not so visible approach. Has been commercialised a lot from across and around

Such a great place for an inspiring walk. It is a magical place with all the monks and Buddha devotees worshiping this holy monument. You will hear the sound of Buddhist chants and smell a mixture of incense and different foods from the surrounding restaurants. Many little shops selling malas, prayer flags and all kinds of souvenir surround the stupa as well as restaurants and guest houses.

It is unlikely other temples in this country where you see just lots of buildings and crowds, here lots of tibetans come through a long way just to worship. It is quite touching when you see those elderly people making their daily walk around the stupa morning to night. However, when we went to there, like anyone else just started walking around the stupa, a man approached us making small talks. I consider myself generally a nice person so we didn't turned him down, kept talking with him like where we were from etc, and he praised us and gave us some Tibetan scarf as gifts. We gave him some same kind stuff as in return. Then he led us inside the stupa and suddenly changed his face, saying he got some medical problem, asking us for money, specifically stated UK money! We were stupid enough to give him a few notes as the conversation before had been well. Then he wasn't satisfied with £20, kept asking for more. We had to run away so to get rid of him. It is such a shame as such a thing happened in such a place. I believe that wasn't the first time the man did such things as we thought back. The whole thing was well planned. I believe there are more like him, not to mention everywhere in Nepal especially in KTM kids on streets asking for money out of the blue.

Anyway, the whole time in Nepal is quite an experience for me.

Mystical and charming. great for curios and shopping souvenirs. The Stupa was beautiful an I was mesmerized by the history. Avoid crowed evenings.
