Apart from the Reclining Mahavishnu in the Indian city of Trivandrum, I saw another Vishnu lying in the pond in this temple. The small temple also had a lovely front porch wherein I could see the thread ceremony of young boys as per the Hindu tradition.

I thing this is the only temple of Vishnu in lying position. Darshan are comfortable. Photography from outside is possible.

Myself and my wife visited this temple during our recent Nepal tour. The statue of Vishnu reclining on the pond is unique. The cleanliness of the place can be improved.

One of the temples that are not downtown. There are approximately 7-8 km from Thamel to Budhanilkantha. Impressive temple, very nice declining Vishnu, made from one stone, black. My advise is to go out from crazy downtown, take a walk around and follow the road down and take the walk in amazing surroundings, plenty of small shops, street life, real Kathmandu. Once you are tired, you can stop Tempu (Tuk-Tuk) it is only munger 5 from there to go back downtown or some of the micros, but micro drivers ar kind of crazy :)
