We had been on vacation tour traveling with a Touring company. We stayed in this hotel. Hotel is 7 storied building. Upper floor Hotel Rooms are good. Maintenance is good. Safety angle is not overlooked for example if you you are genuine occupant of hotel then only you can go by lift by scanning your room key to the censor in the lift. Location is very convenient, few minute walk from Tribhuvan International Airport.
Restaurant is specious, clean and airy. Quality of food is O.K.
first and second floor rooms are not so specious. There is a revolving Restaurant on the top floor i.e. 7th floor. Overall we can say hotel is good.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms and rooms opposite to Air port side are big and good.

My family and I were here for a short stay of 4 days, and had a poor to average experience. The first impression is where it all started... The hotel pick-up service from the airport sent a vehicle that was not big enough for 7 passengers to seat comfortably, plus it had one of the hotel staff along with us (excluding the driver) - giving us less room! We arrived at the hotel and were asked to wait in the lobby. At the time of booking, we had requested for a third bed in one of the rooms so I thought that is what they were arranging for. We waited about 15 mins and then were taken upstairs to settle in our rooms - there was no 3rd bed in either of the rooms. While we were settling in, the third bed arrived!! This was supposed to be arranged for already!

The rooms are fairly standard with quiet views. The bathrooms are modern with a shower, but the running water could really use some treatment, as it was uncomfortable to brush, or take a shower with, in that quality of water. Also, the shower knobs for 2 of the 3 bathrooms were broken. For a hotel that size, and of that standard, I'm sure they could improve on that!

The breakfast/lunch buffets were not adequate for the amount of guests that ate in - they would always have to be asked to be refilled. The first day we ordered from the menu, a pot of the veggies took so much time to arrive to the table that my guests had already finished eating the rest of their meal. They had forgotten the order but just did not accept their mistake. When we asked about it, they brought it in at the end, but there was no way we would be eating it by that point. So, we asked them to take it off the bill, but they wouldn't budge claiming that we did not order it in the first place! Wow!
Another time, we asked for bottled water, they brought in an open seal bottle. I had to return it and ask for a sealed one! Their room-service menu seems extensive, but there isn't a whole lot of flavour in the food. It was bland for the most part, and very greasy as well. The rotating dining on the top floor has nice views, but again, the food is not great! It is a bit more pricey as well with less options.

We ordered dinners through room service a few times, and there would be no-one to pick up after the meals. We left the dishes outside - upon seeing what other guests had done - and they were left there for over 24 hours along with others!! Where's the maintenance crew?!

Their chauffeur service pricing is sky-rocketing compared to a general cab off the street - right in front of the hotel! We used the cab service instead, which was more convenient and friendly. The hotel is literally across the airport, which gives easy access, but not a choice again if I visit Kathmandu. Everything is over-priced compared to the quality. Overall, it was a poor stay.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up are quieter as there is a major highway across the hotel.

We visited Nepal thru Veena World, a world class tourist company during 23 March to 30 March 2014. We stayed in the hotel at the start and at the end of the tour. The hotel provides a good ambiance, comfortable rooms, and good food. The location is most advantageous, it is 5 minutes from the Tribhuvan International airport. The only draw back is the 12 hour power shut down in Nepal which affects the hotel even if they provide power by Generator. The staff is very cordial and helpful.

Room Tip: Rooms ending with digit 7 are better than other rooms and have more amenities.
