“Pleasant hotel”
Reviewed 23 December 2011

I have been staying there for 3 days, staff were all pleasant and friendly. Never pushy but attentive for your request. The location is good and easy to memorize. Also enough pressure of hot water is always available here, it's remarkable to think of troubles which other hotels of the same class are often having. Free wifi is always available in the room and the speed is good. Their pricing of tours are very reasonable.

Room Tip: nice bigor room

We booked the hotel through Agoda.com Thamel. The reviews from other travelers were very nica and excellent and hence we decided to book this hotel. when we reached the hotel, the room given to us was completely different than what was shown on the website. But they changed our room when we asked them to change. The new room was bigger , however it was not at all maintained. Rooms were not at all clean and bathroom was pathetic. In the night we realized there were lots of Dance bars close to the hotel and a lot of noise was coming and we were hardly able to sleep. While our trip was of 5 days but we left the hotel very next morning and cancelled our booking. I would say not a good place for family or couples and there are better hotel than this at the price the hotel charge.

Namaste and Greetings from Peak Point Hotel!!!

Thank you for taking your valuable time to write this review and sharing your personal opinion of Peak Point with us.

Our location is certainly one of our main draw that had attracted most of our guests as we are right in Thamel, our tourist hub, but, away from the hustle and bustle of our urban living. Restaurants, shops and the local market are just round the corner from where we are.

Our room rates are most reasonable and our facilities are very much better than most budget hotels with the same pricing or the cheaper and older hotels.

We have quality beds and comfortable mattresses (which does not sunk- in right in the middle), and not Back Breakers found in most other budget hotels as their facilities were not upgraded for ages and is really on the down side as what you have mentioned.

Water is clear and clean, again not like those other cheaper and older hotels where the water smells rusty and looks muddy, and it is impossible to even take a shower with that quality of water.

Our rooms are clean and comfortable with attached bathrooms and availability of 24 hours hot water for shower, free breakfast and free bottles of drinking water in the room, free wi-fi, and free airport pickup, which more than commensurate with our reasonable room rates charged.

Though a budget hotel with limited resources, we will continue to strive to up our service standards and facilities as customer’s satisfaction is our main concern. Upgrading our facilities is an ongoing process for customer’s satisfaction.

It is of paramount importance to us that ever y guest departs Nepal and our hotel with fond memories of our warm Nepalese hospitality and service.

Hope you and partner have enjoyed your holiday in my beautiful country and had gone home with many positive happy memories of Nepal.

Last, but not least, we do appreciate constructive feedbacks to improve and up our service to serve our future guests better and we are still learning from our guest’s feedbacks.

Stay Peak Point Hotel, to experience…….

We were there first week of November. We had on-line booking with them. My flight was late even in late night there was hotel staff waiting for us with my name. After 15 minutes drive from airport we arrived in hotel. Hotel is in the south part of Thamel just behind of the sub-president resident of Nepal. Thats why this hotel is more safe and quite. During of my day in there I got some plus points of this hotel, friendly and helpful staff and 24 hours hot and cold sower,
And also 24 hours free Internet access, delicious breakfast and clean room.

Room Tip: Choose room of upstairs front side if you want to see good views of sunrise and moutain

We stayed there for four nights and the start was bad. They promised to pick us up at the airport but nobody showed up. We called several times but nobody answered the phone. So we were obliged to take a taxi.
The first day, there was no water (not even cold, just NO water), second day there was cold water, which was already an improvement. After several complaints (from several people), they fixed the water issue and from then on there was warm water. The manager told us he was very sorry about it and he agreed on not paying the full amount.
Another disadvantage of the hotel was that there is a disco nearby which means there is a lot of noice during the night.
Also, when we saw ants on the table (every day), we were not really hungry anymore.
To end with a positive note, the people working there are friendly and the hotel is located near to the center of Thamel.

Dear Guest,
Namaste and Greetings from Peak Point Hotel.

Thanks for your comment for sharing your experience with Peak Point Hotel and Family. I am really sorry to hear from you that you had trouble during your stay with us.

There was problem with Hot water and even the cold water. But we have already fixed up and every customers they are having hot shower. It was the technical problem and hotel staffs were not able to fixed it . Its the winter over here in Nepal even i have not got any single complain regarding the hot water, this moment. Thats the reason, i have spoken with you on telephone before you leave and fixed the bill with discount.

Also i would like to mention about the electricity prolbem over here in Nepal. I know, how hard to manage and we are facing load shedding every day. You could not use television and won't have even single light during the load shedding but the Peak Point has already manged and were aware about this kinds of things. So now we have backup lights during the load shedding time and also have generator too.

There is disco near by at Hotel but we could not control at all. It depends upon the government policy. Dicsoes does effect to every hotel in Kathmandu, especially in Thamel. AnywayThamel is noisy place because of the dance bars and discoes. Just in Thamel, you can find more than 1000 discoes and dace bars but we could not control to them. I have seen few comments on different hotel and they are also suffering from the noise ( came from disco). Please do believe me, Peak Point hotel has great location and its one of the quiet place at the Thamel.

As you understood, we do focus the customer care and which is most important to run a business. Customer is our "God" and management policies should be for customers benefit. Even, i tried to help you during your stay with us and i was very worried about your problem.

At the end, i am Extremely sorry for those inconvenient and hope you will give me the chance to help you on coming future. Believe me, we have improved alot and hope it won't be happen again.
Take care and have a great time.

Best Regards
Sujan Lamichhane
