“A place to return to”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

We stayed three times (May, and 2x March) with Peak Point Hotel, every time for multiple days. In total we stayed almost 20 days here.

The good:
- the rooms are clean. They clean your room every day, even if you stay longer. We opted out some days.
- the beds are very comfortable, and the sheets smell good;
- the breakfast is great, you can choose what you want. Try the pancakes;
- there's 24h light;
- the staff is super friendly and helps you find your way in town. Thanks Devon, Gopal, Amrith!;
- close to Thamel, but away from all the traffic;
- there's a book swap shelf with some books;
- the in house travel agency gives out information about things to do, without being pushy;
- airport pickup (bear in mind that there are some shady figures at the airport, requesting tips, but in our case it turned out he had nothing to do with the hotel nor the taxi driver. We did not tip this figure.).

The not so good (all outside the hotel):
- there's construction work going on in the area. They start around 6-7 am, but that will pass;
- with rain, the dirt road in front of the hotel will become a bit muddy;
- Kathmandu has a load shedding for electricity, so there will be times without power.

All in all we really enjoyed staying in Peak Point Hotel, and we know where to go next time in KTM.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the right hand side (facing the hotel), or backside, since they have less construct...

Two years later and I was back at Peak Point. It really wasn't a question for me which hotel to choose, since my two previous experiences with Peak Point were perfect! It seems that every time I return here, things get better and better.

- The staff gets friendlier and more professional
- The breakfast has improved in quality and appearance
- The WiFi has gotten better
- The service has, albeit it was already perfect, has gotten even better!

The rooms are clean and what you may expect as always. The neighbourhood is quiet and the busy streets of Thamel are just a few minutes away.

If you want to be in Thamel, have a peaceful time and enjoy all luxurious from back home, definitely choose peakpoint!

The entire hotel staff provides excellent service. From airport pickup to providing valuable & critical information on places to see, providing information on taxi fares to various tourist sites, and to providing directions to various eateries, money exchange to sorting my extra baggage between visits, organising the trek and tours etc. It was just a great feeling. This was a very quiet and safe feeling hotel in an area of much hustle and bustle. Peak Point hotel is highly recommended among my Friend in my country.

Namaste and Greetings from Peak Point Hotel.!!!

We thank you for sharing your opinion of Peak Point Hotel.

The 4.5 ratings of Peak Point Hotel on trip advisor written by other guests who had stayed and had given their frank opinions are based on their expectation of a small budget hotel charging budget rates. As you have mentioned, expectations have to be managed, as each of us have different levels of expectations.
We are still improving on our services and keeping our product reasonably priced to stay relevant to the needs of today’s travelers. Our team will strive to up our service standard and improve facilities for the benefit of our future guest to enhance their experience while staying with us for a memorable holiday with a difference.
Hope you have enjoyed your stay in my beautiful country and wishing you all the best.

We thank you for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

Hotel located in the heart of tourist area Thamel, but away in a quiet street so it's good if u want a good night rest from all the bustling noise. Just a little tricky to find the hotel for the first time.

Room was basic but was very comfortable. Bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Clean toilets. Television has cable channels. Running hot water 24/7 despite the time-allocated power shut downs in the whole nation. I stayed in a deluxe single with an air-conditioner, and it was definitely the best choice to retreat from the summer heat from time to time!

Staff was excellent, ready to help and ever so friendly to assist. Very comfortable hotel with the right smiles from staff. Will definitely come back again if I dropped by Kathmandu.

P.S. It's a must for an air-conditioned room in SUMMER!! LOL

Hotel Peakpoint is honestly one of the most homely, helpful, loving, caring places I have ever stayed. Whilst the rooms are fairly basic, but they are clean & well kept they have everything you need! What really makes hotel PeakPoint amazing is the people. All the staffs are very cheerful & always ready to help as well as Mr Sujan who takes care of everyone personally. Some construction work was going on but it wasn't that bad to compare with the service they have provided. If we needed anything they would always be there to help, answer our questions, provide us with major discounts and show us the best way to spend our time in Kathmandu and get around Nepal. Location is perfect for Thamel and the restaurant is delicious . Can’t believe how much I enjoyed my stay here. Highly recommended to everyone , must try once!!!
