Great place, in the heart of KTM BUT! Just enuff away from the tourist area (2 mins by foot). Do not be confused, as you get what you pay and for NPR 400 per night "who can complain ?". They gave me an up grade to a better room for free for staying longer.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and the manager Mr D will try help/organise anything you wish or need.
There is also a local restaurant/bar in the court yard that sell cheap good local/international food.

Over all I would rate the hotel as a great choice if you are a Westerner looking for a room to sleep that's simple and a great ambience of staff and restaurant in the heart of bussy KTM.

1 can't complain for this great price!!

The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly, especially Dipen and Rabin. They kept our luggage for the duration of our trek (24 days) free of charge, they did not complain when we fiddled around with the booking dates, they were providing fresh bottled water every evening (particularly useful the day of arrival, when we were completely knocked out!). The room was big and clean. Even if the bathroom was a bit rusty, it didn't bother us so much.

We have been there and the staff was really helpfull, friendly, jokink, smiling all the time. It was very nice to hang out a little with them. They are the new owners since a few months, they re trying to improuve the hostel and I think that it's a good beginning. We wish you all the best guys.

We stayed at Langshisha twice on our way to and our way back from the Himalaya for a total of several nights, almost a week. The pricing is very modest and the staff are more than happy to cut the cost- just give them a reason, bigger company, longer stay. They even offered to store some of our luggage at no charge when we went for our trek - in fact, nearly three weeks. The location hits right on the spot - close to anywhere, be it Durbar, the Monkey Temple or Thamel (5 mins away) but less touristy than Thamel, the rooms are ligned along patios on respective floors, overlooking an open field behind the building and away from the street bustle and rumble, the design is ripe with juicy colour and there are mirrors everywhere to enhance the space sensation which is a big plus in a city as cramped and crammed as Kathmandu, especially if you're there to stay for almost a week. There are decent bathrooms, Kathmandu standard but livable and showerable, TV to boost the exposure to Nepalese doings and goings, and nice cleaning ladies. I higly recommend the place to anyone looking for accommodation in Kathmandu.

We really enjoyed our stay here. As we travelled throughout Nepal whenever we were in Kathmandu , Langsisha Guest House was our home away from home. We always felt most welcome. Our room was spacious with comfortable beds and clean fresh bedding. The staff was always very attentive to our needs and the solar hot showers were the best! Very good room rates too. Stay here and you too can enjoy the place.

Welcome was pleasant, prices were corrects (we paid only 400 roupies for a double room), personal is helpful and it s located close to Thamel. We could let our bags there for 10 days for free. People there don t try everytime to sell us something, even if they sell.
What can we ask more ? We enjoyed our stay !
