We arrived Kathmandu late evening and requested the hotel to arrange for our pickup which was for an extra cost (25 usd).
Staff: The hotel staff were friendly and during check in the Duty Manager came personally to welcome us.
Being a IHG member you receive free wifi access in the room and a late check out option.
Food: We ordered the Nepali dishes like nepali chicken curry, nepali mutton dry dish and some other dishes from the menu. We enjoyed the food, it was delicious and a great start to the Nepali cuisine experience.
The buffet breakfast was good as well and had a good variety available.
Transport: The hotel does not have any shuttle service to the market area Thamel or any place for that matter. I would highly recommend the hotel to consider starting a shuttle service to the market area. We took a taxi from the hotel (they have taxis parked at the crowne plaza vicinity which have temp crowne plaza permits). They charge approx 1000 Nepali rupees to go and come back. If you decide to take time more than an hour they would charge a waiting fee or you can just take a regular cab from the market area Thamel. Sinxe it was our 1st day in Nepal we decided to ask the taxi to wait for us.
Hotel: The property is nice, beautiful pool, there is a casino and a few nice restaurants. The rooms however definitely need a renovation, the sofa had stains and the dull colour of the sofa and curtains did not help either. The rooms definitely does not live up to the Crowne Plaza standard compared to some other parts of the world.
