Very nice location.. a very nice view..However, the hotel rooms need to be renovated,, the carpets have a very dense humidity . The room cards do not work properly. Every time we try to open the rooms, we need to go back to the reception to activate the cards.

We're a couple of older hippies, so they seated us (hid us) behind a pillar. There were tons of tables available, but the woman at the dinner buffet stuck us as far away from the serving area as possible. We left instead of eating the overpriced food. There are great restaurants a short walk away at the Stupa. The Hotel itself is beautiful and worth a stay if you have the $, but if you don't have a Stupa view of Boudanauth, then it's just another cool 'lobby architecture'. There's a shortcut to the Stupa via the pool. BTW - we stayed for free with Hyatt points, and the 'Regency' area on the 6th floor has great happy hour snacks, and attentive staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a Stupa view room, or don't bother to stay here.

We stayed at this hotel at the end of our three week Nepal holiday. I am afraid that the hotel was overpriced .The rooms were clean but seemed shabby and tired. - old TV's and stains on curtains. I had to ask for my sheet to be changed - on checking the bed -found it stained and hairs! Ugh. Have to say this was done quickly by housekeeping staff. The double glazing on down stairs windows are very dirty and hall carpets dirty and threadbare. The shower was very good and lots of hot water.
We had problems with opening the door of our room - and although three members of staff helped us not one offered to actually sort the key out and so we struggled on .
The breakfast buffet was good with lots of choice and good quality food. We enjoyed the pool which was kept in good order, with comfortable sun loungers and clean towels We are not the kind of people to find fault but - ordering iced coffee - didn't have any ice in it ! So did ask for some. In some ways I felt quite a lot of sympathy with the staff -they did work hard but probably got fed up having to deal with complaining tourists. I guess the book stops with the management of this hotel and training as well as spending money on renewing furnishings and cleaning wooden floors.
My main gripe about this hotel was that after being so expensive to stay they also charged for wi - fi which I didnot understand.

Room Tip: Don't have high expectations

Stayed here with my wife for three nights. With no doubt, HYATT REGENCY is the finest hotel in Katmandu: it’s located in a landskaped gardens, extremely relaxing and excellently cared non so far Durbar Marg (Kat’u City Center).
The magnificent building introduces you to a splendid hall and internal/external gardens with flowers and funtains/pool as well. The rooms are modern, cleanest and very spacious, perfectly equipped with luxury furnitures and facilities.
The English and/or Continental breakfast (and dinner as well) is showing top quality dishes/cousine and greatest attention service for every tastes and needs coming from international clients.
Really a pleasant hotel and a fantastic stay.

I may call it a shabby run down Tripple A Hotel. WIFI didn't work, Hotel key each time had to be renewed. Sub Standard Showers and furniture, mattresses, at times no power at all. Old fashioned TV and pour reception. At Check out we were overcharged for both rooms for a night. Even so when we checked in we presented out coupon from AGODA. SHAME on HYatt.
It took 30 minutes to remove the charges once a showed them another print out of my confirmed paid vacation by AGODA. This hotel is in urgent need of upgrades. I am terrible disappointed the way the check out was handled. Break fast buffed wasn't bad same for Dinner buffet but service was abosutely non-existent. I had to ask the Manager twice on occasions where are the drinks (coffee and Tea). Once we got the tea it was supposed to be GREEN Tea but so strong that a bitter taste formed in my mouth and again asked the Manager to replace the drinks for break fast. Swimming pool not bad but terrible cold water. It felt like jumping in to an artic lake.........

Room Tip: there aren't any better rooms. They are in bad shape all around.
