Had a one night stay in Kathmandu and decided to stay in this hotel. The hotel building is absolutely beautiful as well as the gardens. The room we had was spacious and comfortable. The only down side was the shower, the floor seemed to slope from the drain towards the door so you ended up standing in the water while you showered. The meals we had were very good. Will stay there again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind feedback and time you have taken to write on-line. Your appreciation about the hotel, room and the food is encouraging indeed. I do apologize for the building issues you faced in regards to the drainage system in the shower. Please note that we have discussed the same with our team and we shall definitely ensure that this is being rectified.

Thank you once again indeed and we very much look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future.

Stayed here again this week--- and always a pleasure. Checkin/out is really efficient and friendly. The rooms are large and well appointed. King beds are really comfy and bathroom/room overall are very clean and well done. Tea/coffee available in the room. Wifi is free for hyatt loyalty card members---and reliable + good broadband speed. Breakfast is excellent buffet and included in room cost. The grounds are lovely-- nice gardens, inviting pool, nice places to sit outside and relax over meal/drinks. The lobby is impressive-- nicely decorated with art. Nice bar/tea area to talk, read, relax. Near the airport. Also 7-10 min walk from Bodnath Stupa--- really enjoyable walk, nice area around very holy stupa/temple, cute shops, bars, restaurants, hotels in the area around the stupa. Highly recommended for business or personal travel.

Room Tip: try for room facing Bodnath Stupa. otherwise, also nice to see views of gardens on other side of h...

My parents & me, stayed here on a 03Nite/04Day Holiday-Package, and it was a wonderful experience. The Hotel is the epitome of luxury ---set amidst 37 acres of lush, landscaped grounds --- The Buildings ooze charm & blend in so beautifully, owing to their traditional Newari-Style of Nepalese architecture.

Its a bit away from the city-centre, in Taragaon, but that should not be a deterrent for those that want to be away from the hustle & bustle of the town.... but if you wish to visit Thamel, Durbar Marg etc.... it IS a bit far out.

Rooms are well-equipped and spacious with a bathtubs AND a walk-in shower, in the bathrooms.... Well appointed with amenities & supplies.

I visited with my parents, and we would spend hours just sitting in the lobby, lounges, appreciating the Newari architecture...or in the lush gardens, lawns & the pool, during the daytime.

The nights were spent at Casino Tara located within the hotel with a gaming space of about 21,000 square feet. Tara is fancied by peace-loving players because it is a little away from the city centre. The interior design is extraordinary and the food is just mouthwatering. We were not only tempted by the surreal hospitality offered therein (Snacks, Drinks, Smokes, Buffet Meals) but also with some live entertainment with singers & bands.

The Staff was always helpful & eager to please. The Travel-Desk was able to arrange for good sightseeing tours. Good food, Good Service ---an Oasis of Luxurious peace & tranquility!

Room Tip: Ask for the Higher-Floors (4th & Above) --- That face the Boudhanath Stupa & provide panoram...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind feedback ! I am delighted to know you had an awesome experience with your parents at our hotel and we were able to deliver to you the Hyatt Service we pride ourselves on. As mentioned by you, though we are located a bit away from the city center, the tranquil environment we have created with our hotel architecture and ambiance does give our guest a sense of isolation from the hustle and bustle that Kathmandu is now known to be. For our discerning guests, looking to venture down town, we do offer complimentary shuttle service to major points in town six times a day.
Your kind appreciation about the facilities, the hotel has to offer is very encouraging.

Thank you once again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Hyatt Regency Kathmandu for another memorable experience.

This is a hotel dripping with charm and old world details. Not remotely new, but in very good condition with large guest rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful and meals are good. Beautiful grounds and swimming pool and security is good. The water is either suspect or dangerous in the area and the hotel includes two large bottles of good water each day at no additional charge. Within easy walking distance of many temples and stupas. If you do much walking, be sure to take a dust mask, as the area is very dusty and gritty. We attended a conference at this property and all events were well organized by hotel staff who also provided ample, tasty buffets each day. Reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Choose between a stupa/temple view or one of the lavish grounds.

We stayed for a week and enjoyed the experience. The hotel is spotless, a real oasis & close to many attraction- taxis are inexpensive to just about anywhere.
Don't miss the public cremations and the Buddhist temple nearby. Both can be a little confronting but this is Nepalese culture and should be respected. Look for a restaurant in Thamel called, Thamel House. It's a must!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view. That will give you a great view. We had access to the exec club- a little more...

It is a lovely property, a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food is very tasty, but it does offer more Indian food, I could not get to eat any Nepalese dishes. Rooms are very comfortable, and the pool and jacuzzis around the pool are nice too.

While visiting Kathmandu a friend was taking us around town and we stopped in to have some lunch. I had the Himalayan Trout which was one of the mid-range priced items. It was good, but for the price not worth the food. Lunch for 3 of us, none of which ordered anything extravagant was over $75USD. Beautiful Hotel though...
