We stayed here for three days after a ten-day trip to India. The hotel is average, but the location and the shopping/restaurants around it make it better. If you are a shopper but don't want to have to find stores or ask for recommendations, this is the hotel for you. Right outside the hotel (literally about a ten-second walk), you can find at least twelve stores selling everything from paintings to calendars to cds to clothes to figurines. The shop owners are so nice and friendly and are very familiar with tourists. There is also a fair-trade store down the street. This hotel has an "extension" across the street with a garden rooftop cafe. One night, our group went there for drinks and had a nice time. It closed at 1030 though, which I thought was early for a hotel bar. The view from the pool is great, and some of the fitness equipment is outside and has a view of the pool/city. In addition, expect intermittent power outages, but that is normal, and they only last for about a minute. Overall, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a view of the parking lot/entrance while others have a view of the city (which we ha...

This was my first experience with Radisson, but really expected better. To start with the cleanliness, first time in my life saw the food plates everywhere in the corridor...in front of the rooms, while coming back from work in the evening. The air-conditioning does not work in the night, so sweated almost every night during my stay for four nights in mid May. Breakfast is terribly monotonous, same stuff repeated everyday without much variety. Regarding wifi, you would understand its really complementary. Among few good things: food otherwise is really good, and served promptly while ordered for in-room dining. Front desk is friendly and efficient enough.

Room Tip: No preference

Expected the Raddison to be good but it was really bad and the staff were terrible. To begin with the air-conditioning was not working properly and the room temperature was 29C. When I called to ask them to fix it they offered me a stand fan instead which was shocking. After I demanded it was fixed and the maintenance guys came did some work and left the floor uncleaned also it was not working yet.

The restaurant staff was terrible too and slow as robots. Very rude service and never approachable.

We had a comfortable stay here, the rooms were nice and clean, but the bathrooms could be updated, there were a lot of molds in the shower/tub, the water wouldn't drain properly, and the shower curtain could be improved.
Internet is free, but very slow and system kicks you out frequently, and it is such a nuisance to keep entering the log in and password.
The SPA was wonderful, very reasonably priced and a must try.
Breakfast had a lot of varieties and you could ask for fresh eggs or omelette.

The hotel was clean but not newly updated. Our room was comfortable though the power went out for a short amount of time. The breakfast buffet always seemed crowded and the servers too busy to get to everyone in a timely manner. They've renovated the spa but we still chose to use another spa close to the hotel that had more competitive prices. The location was good, close to a grocery store.

I stayed in Radisson in Kathmandu twice in 2 weeks, one night each stay. It is located in good area, next to hotel you can find many shops with souvenirs, like cashmere, jewellery etc, so if you don't have time to go to the city, you can find little gifts there. Though Thamel Square is 3 min away by taxi. The hotel itself has main and new (smaller) buildings, I stayed in the smaller one. The staff there is knowledgable and friendly. Security at the entrance always greet you with smile and "Namaste". I personally didn't enjoy the breakfast, the variety is quite small and menu contained many things that I cannot eat in the morning. I tried Tranquility spa as well, and enjoyed it immensely. I took a session with massage and ayurvedic treatment, when they pour warm oil over your head, it was very relaxing and calming, I would definitely do it again. I had little problem during check out, because mistakenly in my bill were added 2 minutes of international calls (1000 rupees), which I tried to do, but calls never went through. This problem was solved quite fast. Overall my stay at Radisson was pleasant and relaxing.
