I stayed at Vaishali when in Kathmandu on business in late October for 3 nights and my impressions were mixed. The staff is great - Sanju, you are so wonderful – thank you!! Breakfast is delicious and room service was also very good. To the owner, may I humbly say that your hotel is definitely in need of a renovation/refreshing. The hotel for the most part, does not appear to have been touched in 30 years. It is clean, but shabby. Internet service was also poor. In the lobby where access is free, we were in reality able to access infrequently – the front desk explained that the wifi wasn’t working well. Even upon purchasing an internet card for 575 rupees, I could not gain access – nor could the staff who tried to assist me – so I would not recommend buying one. I would not say “don’t stay here”, but given the price of the hotel, there may be other options worth exploring before booking at Vaishali.
