This hotel might not be top-notch, but I guess for Kathmandu standards it is quite good. We stayed a total of 4 nights, as part of a group trip through Nepal.
Location: excellent, quiet side street off Durbar Marg, a 10-minute walk to Thamel (turn right once you reach main road, then left at end of road and walk straight), a 5-minute walk to a number of Western-style restaurants and cafes on Durbar Marg (turn left once you reach main road).
Rooms: Spacious, comfortable king-sized beds. Windows open. No safe.
Quite, with view on a very pretty garden.
Warm water available despite power outage.
Breakfast: bland, little variety, few choices, only occasional egg-station
Rooms: no safe, tired, frayed carpet, bird poo outside windows – it seems no one has ever considered cleaning the hotel from the outside. The first two nights the room was icy cold (central A/C, no option of turning it off), the next two nights it was warm.
Bed sheets: blood stains on one
Bathroom: only shampoo and shower gel (no body lotion) . Non-removable shower head. Water pressure low.
No free wi-fi either in room or reception areaMore
