This hotel is in thamel, Its a proper city and the proper place for outing and shopping. We booked this hotel trough Suchitra Bhandari from the same hotel. It was a awesome experience, Staff was very good, Very hardworking and very friendly too. They have a small garden area where you can enjoy match on big screen and you can have food and liquor in garden too. We have tried only Indian food there and it was good.Rooms are neat and clean as they took 3hr while doing that but they have only ac in rooms no fan.Do not take room on 3rd and 4th floor because no electricity after 11am. Nice hotel for family trip.

Room Tip: Take roon on 1st floor or 2nd floor only ...

I enjoyed my stay at Manang Hotel.

The Good:
1. Located in Thamel, and thus there is very easy access to restaurants and shopping. Also, it is in a relatively quiet region of Thamel which makes it quieter and potentially safer than elsewhere.

2. Clean rooms, free wifi (slow though), flat LCD TV works all day, heater/air-conditioner at night, hot water all the time.

3. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. There is a security guard and a scruffy guard dog.

The Bad:
1. Lift hardly worked for my entire stay. Not a big problem as staff can port your bags up and down the stairs, but still it can be inconvenient if staying on the higher floors (5 floors of rooms)

2. Food is slightly pricey (despite a 15% hotel-stay discount), but is nonetheless of an acceptable standard.

Conclusion
Manang Hotel provides all the basic amenities but few luxuries and is equivalent to 3-star hotels in other countries. The staff are well trained and most importantly the hotel is clean and safe.

Room Tip: My room on the fifth floor (highest floor) had inconsistent wifi. My room on the fourth floor had m...

The Hotel Manang is a nice hotel, clean and nice rooms situated in Thamel where you can find all kinds of shopping, restaurants, cafés etc. The staff is very friendly and they always try to solve your problems, whatever it is. There are Wifi in the rooms as well and a generator which run the light and router when there is load shedding which happend two times per day. The food in the restaurant is excellent and can be highly recommended. A good choice for a pleasant stay ín Kathmandu!

We stayed in this hotel with our entire family for 10 days and enjoyed our stay totally. I was very happy with the way the Hotel staff met and greeted people and took care of the guests. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We are glad to advice this beautiful hotel in kathmandu: they are very kind in all their services, the rooms are comfortable and some of them very nice in terms of esthetic: we stayed few night in one large room with a beautiful veranda, nicely furnished with fresh flowers.
Breakfast is a buffet with choice of indian and continental food.
we liked the kindness of the personnel.

The hotel is conveniently located at the north end of Thamel so cars can reach it from the north without going through the busiest parts of Thamel. All the tourist shops are restaurants are just 5-10 minutes away. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Nepal suffers from load-shedding everyday but Manang has its own generator so you do get electricity most of the time. The Wifi is good and reliable. However the lift cannot work most of the time due to the power cut. Staff is very professional and surpasses the typical Nepal standard. Rooms are nice and big although one of my rooms has a cracked bath tub. The water is generally hot or at least warm here unlike other hotels. The breakfast is good especially if you like the omelette. The omelette chef is excellent. The bellhop saw me limping and actually brought me to a nearby pharmacy which prescribed effective medication for my ankle inflammation. Great personalized service. The incessant horning of vehicles may affect you if you are an early sleeper but this quietens down after 11pm.

Room Tip: The higher floor rooms should be a little quieter from the road noise.

I stayed at Manang for 2 weeks on a business trip. I found the hotel exceptionally pleasing to stay at. Staff were friendly, from the belhop, to reception to room service - not once was I not greated with a smile. The staff very efficient to meet business requirements, this included daily transfers to work, ensuring I had a room with good WI-FI access, and also accommodating me when I had to leave town unexpectedly for two days.

On my days off they were helpful and knowledgeable on good attractions to visit, also with arranging some on short notice.

Food was not bad, but neither was it exceptional. Room service was available at all hours.

The rooms were clean, not fantastic, but had nice bathrooms, aircon, and large flatscreen TV with plenty English channels. Note that not all the rooms have been refurbished yet and the older rooms have a slightly run down feeling to them. The water from the tap is vile and smells. This is a problem with Kathmandu in general. If I would suggest an improvement it would be to be able to supply clean(er) water.

The location was perfect in my opinion. On the edge of Thamel, so access to the hotel was not hampered, but still close enough to walk to Thamel in 30 seconds.

Pricing is reasonable, there are definitely cheaper places available, but at a risk.

The dealmaker for me at the end of the day was the staff, and how I was made to feel at home. I will definitely return.
