We stayed in second floor courtyard facing room. Service was excellent and people were so friendly like the building itself. Food was excellent taste and healthy organic!! Most of the decor items are recycled materials and that's very good initiative towards sustainability.

After reading reviews on tripadvisor we decided to book the hotel.. The pros are its location, vernacular design, sustainable design, organic meals and most important rooms do not have TV (unless you request in advance)... It ticked all the boxes on our list (food, sleep quality, sustainability, comfort, friendly staff)...
The owner Mr. Bharat is a self motivated entrepreneur focused in developing sustainable facility and promoting organic farming and encouraging traditional way of life (eg water is served in brass container, food served in brass utensils etc.). Mr. Bharat took time out to speak to guests personally and ensured their comfort..
The hotel is located on parallel road to Thamel in a quite lane.. The approach road was muddy as we stayed during monsoon.. However, it will not stop us staying in the hotel in next visit. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed every bit of it...
Must visit whilst in Kathmandu is Bhojan Griha... Bhojan Griha serves set menu meals in the backdrop of Nepalese folk dance...
Garden of dreams is 10 mins walk... Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Squre is 30mins walk.. Swayambunath Stupa is 45mins walk... Narayanhiti museum is 15 mins Walk.... For shopaholics
Shop until you drop in Thamel...... You will not regret your stay here....

Lovely hotel with Nepalese architecture that I find really fascinating.. Rooms are nicely decorated, and staff are friendly.

It is a bit pricey, breakfast buffet is also pricey and very basic (for the price). the garden/courtyard area is breathtaking especially for early morning coffee or evening drinks

They offer daily morning yoga and meditation session which is a perfect way to start your day.

The hotel is in close proximity to Thamel, Durbar Square and shopping street, perfect!

You enter the gate of this hidden gem and feel the serenity. The garden is beautiful, as are the art and tastefully decorated rooms. The rooms are a little dark, but it lends a certain calm ambiance. I really enjoyed this hotel, especially after the cacophony of Thamel. Excellent experience!

Thank you for choosing your stay with us and we are happy you enjoyed our ambience and the garden. We just recently extended the garden since our guests enjoy the open space which is so hard to find in central Kathmandu. We hope to see you soon.

Stayed here June 2014. We had a lovely room (3rd floor, courtyard facing). The hotel is just gorgeous and a minutes walk from the main Thamel/Jyatha area. It's tucked away from the main street which is nice. The garden is LOVELY and the architecture is just superb. The service was extremely prompt. No TVs in the room- but there is free WiFi which is a boon.

Kantipur Temple House is a beautiful restored property right in the old city. With the mass confusion of Kathmandu all around you the green and calm oasis of temple house is a great reprieve. The location is very convenient to all the historic site within the old city center and the hotel offers all the present day amenities a traveler needs. The staff is friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my stay there.

Room Tip: from what I saw most of the rooms seemed very nice and accurate to the pictures the hotel provides.
