In June 2014 visited Kailas Manasasarovar. On the way to poligrimmage stayed in this hotel. It took two hours to go to hotel from air port, due to heavey traffic. Hotel is nice old style. But nice to see city and mountain view from my room. Room service good. High cost on food and room. If this hotel in market area I must appreciated more.
While return back from Kailas Manasasarovar stayed one day.

well a pretty good hotel but still need some improvements , in terms of the old school tv and some electrical items such as some lights were not working but it got fixed on a single complain,
the staf was Excellent specially the Guest Relation officer Poonam, she made sure her guests were comfortable all the time, was very cooperative , and humble i recommend the hotel guests to approach her any time u need some thing and shell be there for the assistance,
the only worst part of the hotel is they dont allow outsiders to visit the guests in the hotel and i cant understand y, i had my relatives coming to see me and they got hold near the lift which was very odd ..
i tried the Spa as well , for which the staff was well trained but the atmosphere was not pleasant need to get a good paint job done with some good spa furniture .
ill rate it 7 outta 10 over all
happy stay every one

Room Tip: higher floors are quieter and with great view

Though we didn't stay here but we specially went there for dinner in the hotel's restaurant with my family. The food was tasteless, expensive and unhygienic. They had very limited menu for buffet and not very good. The restaurant in the hotel had poor hygiene standards. The Service was average. Location is far away from the main city centre. Restaurant was not cleaned, outdated, old, not very well maintained. They don't even serve any appetizers in their buffet. They also served STALE Chapatis and Moong dal halwa. They did not even gave the bill receipt n charged high price(Indian Currency). I did not expect this kind of food n service from this hotel. They charged Rs.750 (INR) per person. They don't offer any good food neither for vegetarians nor non-vegetarians. There vegetarian food is pathetic. It was one of my worst meal in Nepal. After eating there food, u might have some stomach infection.

small issues like providing refilling water bottles,
no welcome drink when you recheck - in as per package deal / your travel plan,
elimination of in room tea / coffee availability / facility,
no fresh air circulation in the wash room.
in today's competitive world rather then extending some thing extra without charge e.g. laundry, which does not make a big deal in terms of attracting the customers, they are hiding / not extending the similar facilities.
The whole feeling at the end of the day is very depressing.

The cost was less than one half of another hotel we looked at. It was more than we expected for the price. We met a wonderful young lady named Poonam who was very helpful in suggesting things to see in the city and setting up taxi tours. The Grand was everything we needed in a hotel, good staff, good restaurant, clean room, air conditioning, continuous electricity and water and a taxi outside to take us where we wanted to go. We did not use the pool or fitness center.
