The staff is incredibly helpful. The only snafu we ran into was when they were performing a money exchange on our behalf. They checked on the rate and told me what it was. I gave them the cash. 15 minutes later they came back with my Nepalese rupees, but they did the transfer at a much lower rate - the rate that was on the street. I'm used to hotels giving a slightly better rate than the money exchange places, but this wasn't a big deal...I just wish they would have said the correct value up front.
They opened breakfast up for us 15 minutes early so that we could eat before having to catch the bus to Chitwan during the morning we checked out. This was much appreciated!
We only stayed one night, but the power didn't get shut off on us. The other hotel we stayed at in Kathmandu shut power off during the day, which was inconvenient. Hotel Friends Home didn't have any power glitches while we were there either...also not what we experienced at the other hotel we stayed at.
Bed was very comfortable, especially for the hotel rate (~$50).More
