This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed here for two nights and we were upgraded to the Suite which made our Wedding Anniversary perfect. We could not have been made more welcome in our own home, every member of staff is extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you.
The grounds are wonderful and full of wild life, yet at night it is extremely peaceful.
The food is amazing, and we would strongly recommend everyone to visit Hunter's Lodge which serves traditional Nepalese cuisine in traditional surroundings. The buffet breakfast is amazing and has a wide selection of food. We also used the Spa facilities which are reasonably priced and an excellent service.
The Tripti Bar is very well stocked with international brands and a good selection of Single Malt Whisky's, all of which are very reasonably priced.

This is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Kathmandu. It is close to the city, but blissfully away from the hulabaloo of Kathmandu. This year I have come to Nepal four times for work. The last two times I've stayed at Gokarna Forest Resort. I recommend it highly. There is nothing that offends the eye. It is quiet and green, and the air is fresh. The rooms are large and the internet is fast -- better than most hotels in Kathmandu. The service is wonderful. The spa, fitness center and indoor swimming pool are great. This is a hidden gem, set in the green belt of Kathmandu, and well worth the extra 10-15 minutes of driving to get to.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. Those facing south get a little more sun. To the north, fauns graze on the...

Beautiful setting and really relaxing. Service was top class and the food was pretty good. could have happily spent another few days here. A great place to recharge and relax. A little bit away from the city but probably all the better for it. Bar staff were extra good - helping us choose some of the local drinks! Great place to stay

The Kathmandu valley is an extremely busy and crowded place, so it is nice to have a place off the beaten path to really reenergize yourself. The facility is very nice with a pretty decent restaurant. There is also a very nice golf course but if you are off the fairway, the ball is gone... there is no room for error. And watch out for the monkeys as they will take anything in your cart that can be carried. The golf course restaurant has an extensive menu and the food is better than you might guess. And there are spa facilities for a very reasonable price. While it is at least a 30-minute ride to any part of town, we liked it because we were forced to rest.

Room Tip: We stayed 2 seperate times and both rooms were fine. Ask for a room with a bigger TV and you will g...

I recently (October 2013) stayed at the Gokarna Resort. It was my first time here and I was extremely impressed with the service and manners of all hotel patrons. It was a relaxing place to stay after a day in the crazy city. My friends and I loved the Spa services, the food was of excellent quality and our overall stay was great. The only downside, was we found our room to be quite hot and after discussing with the attendants, they suggested leaving the air con only on the fan mode. It was still quite warm. But other than that- we loved our stay here and will certainly be back if I return in the future. Thank you :)

After we made the trekking to Everest Base Camp, we were in need of a nice place to relax, preferably near Kathmandu. We finally chose for Gokarna. This turned out to be a good choice. The hotel is very nice, the staff is very friendly and skilled. It is a quiet place. We did not play golf, but it seems everything is available. The food is also good (lots of variety).

I stayed there for 2 nights. Rooms where very spacious, bathrooms where spacious too. Had a problem with AC in first night, since they have centralized cooling system, rectification happened only next day. Food was a bit expensive, surroundings where so serene and green. They have a super golf course. Swimming pool is good and a covered one.

Wifi was slow comparatively, must be careful about the monkeys wandering around !!
