Many thanks to Sanam the Assistant Manager for making us welcome to Nepal, our very first trip. Sanam was very helpful in providing us with information regarding places to buy equipment for trekking and also advice on great places to eat out. All staff were friendly and we especially appreciated being met at the airport and taken to our hotel free of charge. I would recommend this hotel especially to anyone coming to Nepal for the first time because of its location as well as friendly staff.

The staff here really made our experience wonderful. We stayed here before and after our trek of the annapurna circuit. Sujan and his staff arranged our porter-guide for the trek which worked out great. They also arranged some cabs for us to visit some sights in kathmandu which were reliable although maybe a little on the expensive side. All the staff were so friendly and always smiling and eager to help and spoke excellent english. They were always making conversation with us in the lobby, at breakfast which really made us feel welcome. There was some construction unfortunately going on next door the first night but otherwise it was a great location just on the edge of Thamel. We also really enjoyed eating the breakfast that was included on the rooftop each morning although it seemed when we stayed the second time like they might be changing this so double check about the free breakfast.

I stayed here during May on two occasions. The hotel is small and unassuming but very well located in Thamel. My room was great value for money and quiet with wifi and hot water! Breakfast was served on the rooftop by a very friendly waiter that had some language challenges but I was satisfied. The desk staff and manager were helpful and friendly. I stayed in the Manang hotel for one night and can honestly say that the Kathmandu Home Hotel was much better. Not as smart regarding a large fancy entrance, but they had limited hot water, a very noisy room and I couldn't connect to wifi... Katmandu Home Hotel is also closer to a much larger range of tourist shops and virtually around the corner from the 'Garden of Dreams' - a must-see beautiful tranquil garden with an expensive tearoom/restaurant (but u can take yr own picnic) and clean western-style toilets!

Room Tip: I chose a room away from the street, although no cars drive pass as it's a small side street. There is no lift so I preferred a room on the 1st floor, although the staff helped carry my huge suitcase up and down. Remember the electricity is switched off during the day, so no charging of batteries or air conditioner, but comes on late afternoon. But wifi was always available.

Our location is also one reason why our valued guests choose to stay with us as we are right in Thamel, our tourist hub, but away from the hustle and bustle of our urban living. Restaurants, shops and the local market are just round the corner from where we are.

I stayed here after my trek to EBC The Hotel is new and the interiors are elegantly designed and created with classic and subtle colours. All in all, the rooms were neat, toilets were kept cleaned .The location is good which is very close to the Thamel area but away from the hustle and bustle of urban living. The key of the Hotel Kathmandu is its great Hospitality and very professional and friendly staff. The Hotel is near the city centre so it was very convenient to do shopping and sightseeing of Kathmandu city and its History. The Hotel managed to book the trip to Chitwan , Pokhara and Nagorcoat so i enjoyed the trip without any hassle . The hotel has good service e.g. free airport pick up, free Wi-Fi, breakfast included, morning newspaper and seasonal fresh fruit. So must try once!!!

We thank you for sharing about your stay at Kathmandu Home Hotel and we are glad that you have enjoyed your stay.

Though a budget hotel, we take pride in listening and understanding our guest’s needs and to ensure that our guest's needs are met wherever possible. In this aspect, we had installed generators for electricity backup during times of load shedding ( which could last for more than 10 hours daily ) for guest’s convenience. We will continue to be responsive to our guest's evolving needs as well as up our service standards by going the extra mile to create a great experience for our guests.

We thank you for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
