We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, lovely staff, very helpful and welcoming, the room we were in was fine, there is also a larger deluxe rooms, shower a bit disappointing but overall average hotel, a bit expensive for what you get ,Garden is disappointing (in photos it looks better), we went back again for just one night and we got a room that was claustrophobic and stifled. ask for the rooms facing the garden if you book this place

This is more a hotel than guest house, great location! We stayed here twice on our trip, we like it!

We paid US$35 for a room inside the garden, so we did not have any problem of noise from the street. For room US$25, they are facing the street may be too noise! Room size is big, comfortable bed. Toilet is basic okay! Breakfast not included, but I suggest eating breakfast in other restaurants in Thamel better than in the hotel. Service is great, people are very friendly and helpful!

Room Tip: Rooms inside the garden are better for avoiding noise from the street! Also, there are a lot of pige...

This cheap hotel is located at the south of Thamel, a good exit point for your day trips and close to the center of Thamel.

It's cheap, so don't expect too much - the rooms are a bit dusty, not well maintained, furniture are old and smelly, and a dusty woolen quilt of teahouses (with white bed sheet under it fortunately) warms you up at night. The images on their site reflect renovated rooms but not all of them are like that, with some rooms only party renovated.

In addition it's quite noisy-expect to wake up from pigeons, dogs, roosters and car honks. Not for light sleepers who like to sleep in after 07:00. Try to get a room facing the courtyard, it’s less noisy (better a rooster than car honks).

From what we've briefly seen and looked, the deluxe rooms are a much better option in terms of cleanliness, maintenance and furniture (costs ~$10 more than the standard room). I'd suggest to choose the deluxe room if you are not on a budget trip, but you just want to avoid the tremendously high prices of the high end hotels in Kathmandu. (Or if you would like to avoid the woolen quilt of the other rooms, the deluxe rooms has a synthetic one).

Breakfasts are very simple so don't count on it for too many days and you have to pay for it separately (~$2.5 per person). There are restaurants in the area that provide an a la carte breakfast.

The hotel provides free (clean) drinking water, towels and stick soap. There’s free wifi available, although it’s not superfast. There’s also a supermarket at a short walking distance.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

From the first sight the room seemed ok. You don't expect too much for 25 dollars a night.
The disaster started at about 1 AM with a strong smell of smoke, the source of which we could't find. Nobody was in the corridor. The smell might have come from one of the rooms I think. The management let smoking in the hotel and even provide ashtrays for this.
Then a time of noise had started (good timing). The walls are very thin, so you can hear literally everything in the nearest rooms. I could hear very well the toilet flush. Then you could hear all the talking and doors banging and slamming. At 4 AM someone called our room phone in the room. That was unknown Nepali woman who didnt speak any english and god knows what she wanted from us.
Ok, i put the and tried to sleep. But our windows faced some local people rooms and those people started to make some noises after waking up. They expectorated and talked and clanked the dishes very loudly. Closing windows and earplugs didn't help, the noises were too strong. I tried to talk to those people, but nobody replied.
There was also a very annoying noise which reminded rolling of metallic tanks. No idea what was that.
My friends staying in this hotel were even less lucky: an Indian family broke in their room at 1 AM and turned on the light (while the friends were asleep).

The guest house (cheap hotel) is located in an excellent location in Thamel. Windows are thin so it does get a little noisy at times but easily ignored. Rooms facing the courtyard garden are best and have a decent wifi connection. When I stayed in the room facing the road I could barely get a wifi signal. The rooms were clean and free drinking water is available. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the garden for a nice breeze and wifi connection.

My friend & I had a great stay in the hotel. Very friendly staff & we enjoyed our welcome drinks at the lobby. Good locality in the tourist area of Thamel with easy access to shopping & food. The twin room facing the garden was clean & comfortable. However, breakfast was just simple. The corridor (with motorcycles parked) & entrance to the hotel does not portray a true picture of this great hotel. One of the better hotel we stayed in Nepal.
