I have stayed at Samsara Resort for quite a long period of time and would like to express my sincere appreciation to Mr. Purushotam Dhakal and all hotel staff! I really enjoyed staying at the hotel and having an opportunity to meet these wonderful people. You do not need to worry about anything while staying at Samasara Resort. My friends and I were travelling back and forth and received all the assistance and support from Samsara people that one could have imagined. You have a feeling that you know them for all your life. Location of the hotel is one of the best ones, breakfast is good, and even if there is someting that you would like to have for breakfast but it is not on the menu, you can ask and kitchen staff will kindly cook it for you. In one word, that was PERFECTO! Thank you! When I come back to Nepal, I will not need to waste my time to look for the hotel. I will definitely stay at Samsara Resort. Marina

The hotel is placed in a nice area. The rooms are ok, but the standard is not okay compared with the price for other hotels with the same standard.

After a month of exhausting travel, the management and staff provided the most consistent and sincere attention to my every need. Wonderfully comfortable rooms, a nice breakfast buffet and wifi everywhere on the hotel grounds (including the fantastic outdoor seating area) facilitated a speedy recovery and fantastic end to an amazing journey. I will not forget the kindness of the Samsara staff- a definite YES!

An oasis of calm in the chaos of Thamel - after riding from the airport through the noisy, dusty city, the turn into the hotel entry presented a welcome, green sight. The manager, Mr. Puru, and the staff were excellent. Any requests were filled immediately and Mr. Puru was a highly visible and friendly on-site manager. There was a good breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order. The room was spacious. It was at the North end of Thamel and had a beautiful garden area, free computer usage in the lobby.
We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there on any return trip.

This Hotel is located at Thamel and we chose to stay in this hotel

because of 2 reasons -The first one being that it is at the heart of

Thamel and on the last day of our Nepal trip we thought we could do

little bit of shopping & thought Thamel will provide us an opportunity

for the same and the 2nd being that it was just next door to the

office of the Out Door Himalayan Treks, our tour operator.

We had a choice between Hotel Vaishali and Samsara and we opted for

Samsara because at the first glance it looked clean and neatly

maintained. We found that though they had a generator it was put to

use only after 6.00pm.The towels in the wash room were clean, but the

water was smelly.

The food at the small restaurant on the ground floor was listless and

we regret ed opting to eat there.Even the breakfast served the next

morning was cold and menu was limited.

There are 2 computers kept near the receipt ion for the guests to

browse for free for 20 mts, but the speed was very slow. Next day

morning we woke up to find red marks on our body and realized that

there were from bed bug bites. The stay at Samsara taught us that not

all hotels that look impressive from the outside are clean and hygienic

on the inside.

As part of a three week retirement holiday in Nepal, the first week was spent in Kathmandu. On the advice of Finandra of Funny Nepal Treks & Expedition(p) we stayed at the Samsara Resort Hotel in Thamel. The hotel, though somewhat a little more expensive by local standards in Thamel, turned out to be a wonderful oasis of peace and quiet in a manic city and yet central to all the amenities and attractions of the city. The manager is extremely helpful and always on hand to offer advice and assistance. There is a rooftop bar and the little garden at the front of the hoter is a gem. The only drawback is the lack of a lift. This is a wonderful hotel to rest and relax in before heading off on your trekking expedition.
