we just planned to stay in any good hotel according to response through internet .they responded quickly ,cleared all our doubts , arranged the cab for pokhora(to and fro) and booked the hotel in pokhora . 5 days in Nepal and we enjoyed like any thing .the hotel was clean and tidy .Nice location , well within the market area .the management personnel were so good in treating us . we felt like the most previlaged guest in the hotel .there was a well coordination between the management and the staf and i would certainly love to stay there if i got a chance to visit Nepal once again .

This hotel is very average. Does have a hot shower and free wi-fi but the bed was hard, the room was a bit musty and the towels for showering were stained with huge holes in them - seemed more like cleaning towels than shower towels. The breakfast that comes with the room is very mediocre. Over-all i might be nice to even call it average. Not sure of the value because we booked through an agency and it was all included but I do know that a few people who booked online lost their rooms because they don't really honor the online booking system. There were a lot of tourists in the lobby who were very upset to find that after paying and booking online their room was already taken and the hotel was sold out. - not so good.

Very good location with being in heart of Thamel but off the main street so quiet at night, except the pigeons that came to our window.

Excellent breakfast and service. Very friendly manager, who gave us a late checkout and upgrade to the penthouse.

Hot water, working decent TV, only thing is the Internet can sometimes be weak.

Definitely deserves a higher ranking on Tripadvisor.

Our group of 4 stayed at Samsara Resort the first night we arrived in Kathmandu. We had a good first night of sleep because the hotel is located a block away from the busy street. Service was good. We had an excellent western breakfast here. Beautiful little garden in front of hotel. Bathroom was ok, although my hair smelled after taking a shower.

In the mid-range hotels in Kathmandu, the Samara is a great choice. We felt very comfortable there and well attended to by the staff. Choose this over the Kathmandu Guest House any day. Be sure to go up to the roof. It is abundant with flowers and has excellent views of the city. The rooms are spacious and clean. Access to the hotel is down a little road that has a couple useful shops. There its a very nice grassy seating area with tables. So you can get a nire freshing break from the mayhem of Kathmandu yet be back in it in a few steps whenever you want.

Room Tip: Higher flours afford better views.

We stayed for 5 nights in two stays. The Hotel is very comfortable and the up a side street in the busy Tourist area of Tamel is ideal, behind the gates in a quite garden , a tranquil oasis.
But its the staff that make any hotel a memorable one , and in this regard the Samsara did not disappoint, Outstanding, could not do enough, They made our stay great.

Room Tip: We stayed on 2 floors, the second and the third. They were all similar

We used the Samasra Hotel as a base for our recent trip to Nepal and returned to it 3 times over the course of a month. The staff are extrememly friedly and helpful and even when I went in search of tea at 4am before a very early departure they obliged happily. The setting is good - Thamel itself it a bit mad however Samsara is set down a lane and has a lovely garden in which we consumed many enjoyable beers to relax after a hard day avoiding the Kathmandu traffic. The rooms are average -comfortable beds however in each of the 3 rooms we were allocated only twin beds were available and the bathrooms could all do with updating. Nevertheless after trekking hot water on tap is a wonderful luxary.
