“I really liked this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 September 2012

Holla !
First of all, sorry for the possible mistakes: English is not my native language, but i though more people could read the review if I tried in english, plus i had to speak english in Nepal everywhere so...
I've just arrived home from this wonderfull trip I had in Nepal. This country is amazing, and the city of Pokhara especially, more than Kathmandu.
I stayed in this very nice hotel and the people I met there are a big part of the good memory i keep of this city.
The staff was very helpfull, and arranged everything I asked for: A paraglyding flight over the lake, wich was outstanding even though the view over the mountain was partially cloudy, but the eagles were there, and so was the view over the temples, the gorgeous Fewa lake and the city itself. A must do.
They also arranged my roundtrip to Chitwan, wich was a lot hotter than Pokhara, and were I was able to go elephants riding in the morning to glimpse at the rhinos.
I didn't have time to go to Lumbini, Budha's birthplace, so I really cannot give any advice about the place, even though the people I met in the hotel, at breakfast, who went there seemed to really have enjoyed the place.
As for the hotel itself, it was super clean ( a real surprise after the hotel in kathmandu), and had a bathtub, TV, air conditionning and very comfy bed.
The food was good, delivered right in the bedroom, or on the roof top where the view of the Annapurna mountains is UNBELIEVABLE.( wish I had the same weather the day I went paraglyding).
Hint: If you're an early bird, it 's definitly worth going on the roof top at sunrise, seing the orange, red and pink color of the rising sun reflecting on the snow over the gigantic Annapurna mountain, on the dark night background. Great souvenir.
This hotel was great, and so was my entire stay in this wonderfull city.

The hotel was okay as per the standard of the Nepal. The food was fine and the view from the top the hotel in the morning was amazing to see Himalayas.

The only reason why I am here is because the service provided was outstanding and very friendly.

Thanks you guys for great service.

dear shivanand sir ,
greetings from Hotel grandholiday . Thank you very much for writing review about us & our services in trip advisor . You can see the mountain view from your own rooms as well as roof top .Sitting in rooftop and viewing the mountain view with a cup of coffee makes you to feel that you are even closer to the mountain and you are viewing from its own area but not from a hotel of pokhara .
Thanks for liking our services, foods and management team .
Wishing you a happy time ahead and see you again when you come back nepal again :)

This was my first time traveling in other country, to me everything was new and excited, and through the guide book from lonely planet, I found out and came to this hotel when I reached Pokhara, fortunately I enjoyed a very comfortable hospitality: room is clean, the sunshine is sufficient within, and the views of Feva lake and Annapurna range are excellent. The hotel’s staffs are very kind and patient. At night the hotel is so quiet except one night some Indian guests made much noise, every morning I enjoyed the hotel’s breakfast, especially the Masara tea, that was really marvelous… Hotel Grand Holiday, thanks again for your warm service…

Room Tip: Tip: if possible, choose the higher floor where the views will be better

Its a very good hotel with very friendly staff and owner. The owner Mr Janak Karki takes personal care of all your needs even arranges tours if you wish.

The rooms are modest yet very clean and neat and also offer spectacular views of the Annapurna Mountain range on one side and Fewa lake on the other side. A very beautiful sight out of the window,

The food is essentially Indian & Nepali in style and overall the hotel offers a great experience for travellers of modest budgets without too many frills.

The first overseas tourism chose neighboring Nepal, now it seems at the beginning of choice is right. Swum great's popular then Abram, buddhist holy land than sit a day of the car of the hotel to pokhara, waiter is all all of one suit young man, service attitude is very good, because living on the fourth floor in the morning to see the Himalayan snow mountain was spectacular, hotel health good, sat in a very enjoy breakfast. The boss is a genuine Nepal, very friendly, next time you come to pokhara will live the hotel. Little hint: choose floor high some vision better, don't forget to order sat in the garden a breakfast oh

Stayed here for 4 nights and thoughts are:
Positives:
+ very friendly helpful staff
+ amazing roof top views of the lake and anna purna range
+ tasty breakfast
+ nice location, easy to walk to the restaurants and bars etc
Negatives:
- rooms are basic and considering other guesthouses we saw - I felt it was overpriced, our bathroom was moldy and smelled of damp, also the balcony door was broken which should have been easily fixed.
- very noisy neighbours - men chopping wood and building works going on next door from 6.00am.
- electricity was a real issue - very inconsistent

Fine if you get it cheap - but don't expect a lot.

Room Tip: Try to get the 3rd floor to get the views.

We had the great time staying with Hotel Grand Holiday with very friendly hosptality. Also we had been well taken care of arranging a mini-trecking from Sarangkot, sightseeing tour of Pokhara. We also enjoyed Nepalese food. It is "Value for Money".
