Reviewed 6 March 2014

we stayed two weeks in december/january, while visiting friends. The Blue Planet Lodge is a quiet place, with a lovely garden and beautiful views from the rooftop. In the library you can find enough to read and the choice of rooms is excellent, with something for the most budgets. The staff is very helpful, whenever you want, and the food is delicious.
We had a couple of great meditations (singing bowls) in the meditation hall, but this might be only the case when Sabine (one of the owners) is there.
We like it that part of the earned money goes to projects in- and around Sarangkot, to help the low cast - poor people on the mountain. It's very interesting to visit the projects, if you have the chance.
An extra plus is Bruno, the watchdog - he likes it when you play with him.

Room Tip: all the rooms are good - so look at your budget and pick one.

We stayed in the apartment for a few weeks, and me a simple room afterwards - and enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in a quiet area away from the bustle of lakeside, and with a small garden. Ram and the staff are very nice, and helpful in all respects. Having your own kitchen to cook in was wonderful.
Compared to other places we stayed in Nepal I think it was a bit on the expensive side, and struggled with the Nepalese winter when it comes to heating and hot water - not unusual, but we found warmer places for less.

My Deluxe room was spacious with a private balcony overlooking the snow capped mountains! It's the sort of hotel where all the guests say hello and the communal areas for breakfast make meeting people even easier.
Ram and Sabine and their colleagues made me feel so welcome and part of the family and we celebrated Diwali together with many of the other guests!
I would certainly stay again they if I returned!

It was our first time in this hotel and we stayed there for 7 nights in total. We loved it. It is a very peaceful and charming hotel with a welcoming ambience.

Room
We stayed in the standard room (#102 on ground floor) and it was nice, comfortable, spacious and well-lit. Both room and bathroom were very clean.

Facilities:
Hot water was available 24 hours.
They had some basic lighting in bedroom and bathroom during power cuts.
Breakfast was good and it was included in the room rate. It had good continental options
Pick-up from the bus terminus was arranged by the hotel.
Wi-fi signal was not very reliable and kept getting disconnected frequently.

Neighborhood:
The hotel is conveniently located for shopping and dining just within a few minutes walk. It is also near the Phewa lake. The surroundings are very silent.

Staff:
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ram, the owner, was always courteous and even suggested us to participate in their cultural annual rice planting festival.

Overall:
It was a very nice stay in Blue Planet Lodge and we recommend this hotel. We will stay there for sure in our next trip to Pokhara.

We stayed here for three nights in total, before and after our bike trip.

Rooms are nice and clean.

The muesli from their breakfast menu is excellent and even includes fresh fruit (pomegranate!!!)

Sridi-ram runs the place and is a kind gentlemen. Brought us breakfast, helped us with our luggage, and was always polite.
The owners took time to say hi to us and recommended us two very good restaurants!

The only minor detail was that they forgot to pick us up at the airport. After waiting for10 minutes and no one picking up the phone at the front desk, we took a cab - it wasn't much - only 250 rupees and the driver had no trouble finding the lodge.

Room Tip: Book the green room - it's much much larger than the yellow room.

After a long staying in 2010 I have come back in April 2013 for a couple of weeks. I have found the same friendly atmosphere and good organization that made my staying in Pokhara so nice and relaxing. The 6 days Mardi Himal trekking booked via the lodge service went great: a more authentic trek compared to the Annapurna Base Camp I did in 2010, with breathtaking views.
Looking forward to starting planning my third visit...

This place is the perfect place for different types of holidays. If you want to do a trek, you'll receive all the help and advice you could need; if you want to meet very nice people, the open space makes it easy while you're having your breakfast or just sitting to work or read; if you wish to discover Pokhara, you're in the middle of the lake side, close by many places and you can also receive good advice; if you just need to rest, it's also possible, because it's quiet. It can be nice for couples, families, friends or just solo. The service is perfect, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the view on the himalaya is awesome and the atmosphere is friendly and peaceful. Just go for it!
