I will always to choose to stay here owing to the way we have been looked after. Within walking distance of the main tourist suburb of Lakeside, it is a quiet and clean establishment. They have a delightful habit of remembering your name. The rooms are comfortable with their own ensuites. Laundry service is available for a fee and tourist facilities are available from the foyer.

We were a group of three female medical students traveling to Pokhara to do some trekking. The owner Man Kumar was outstanding! He helped us organize everything we needed for a successful trek from securing permits to finding porters, a guide and equipment. The hotel is a wonderful place for an authentic experience with a lovely family feel. The location is safe and quiet and the homemade food available is delicious. Man Kumar and his family went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome! They helped us navigate Pokhara and plan a great trekking experience!

This hotel was recommended by a good friend of ours and I am happy to report that we had a wonderful time! We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. We were warmly welcomed (and picked up) by Man Kumar at the bus depot, and dropped off at the Pokhara airport on our departure (free of charge!).

The rooms/breakfast were of great value (not overpriced), and the level of service provided by Man Kumar and his family was fantastic! The rooms are spacious and comfortable; WIFI is available (Man Kumar graciously let us use his laptop when needed as we did not have our mobiles on us); emergency back-up generators are in use to deal with Nepal's frequent power outages; reasonably priced laundry service is available; and, there are two lovely terraces for you to enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains!

The hotel is a short 3 minute walk from the main road in Pokhara and is relatively quiet at night to ensure you get good night's rest.

P.s. I am the bearded one in one of the pictures on this site.

This is my first trip back to The Hotel Lake Diamond for a few years (I first stayed here in 2004 and have stayed here nearly every time I have been in Pokhara since).
I arrived yesterday and was warmly welcomed by Man Kumar and his family – Man Kumar is now a grandfather, so there are now three generations at this lovely family run hotel.
Things have moved on in other ways since I last stayed, Man Kumar has now purchased a decent family sized car and he uses this to pick up guests from either Pokhara Airport or either of the Pokhara bus stations, he will do this free of charge if you ring him and let him know where and when you want picking up. He is also happy to transport guests to trail-heads for trekking and even to Kathmandu at a reasonable cost
As previously mentioned, the hotel is getting old, but it is well maintained and you do get a genuine welcome.
The garden is as well kept and beautiful as ever, there is now a good Wi-Fi connection which is free for hotel guests and the hotel now has an emergency backup generator for use in Nepal’s frequent power outages.
As with previous posts on here, I can heartily recommend The Hotel Lake Diamond to anyone !!

The hotel was recommended by one of the guys who have been to Nepal many times and i'm glad it did not disappoint. The owner Mr Mankunmar and his staff was really helpful, offering to pick us up from the bus station and also letting me store my stuff while i was on my Poon Hill trek. You have to walk a little bit to get to the hotel as it is situated at the farther end of a road but that's the charm to it as it is very quiet and peaceful. It has a nice garden for you to enjoy your tea and book and also a balcony for you to chill out. When it comes to the room, me and my guide got a very clean and comfortable room, not to mentioned there's hot water but only on certain times. The hotel is getting a little bit old but most important is it is clean and you can't ask for more for the amount that you're paying. If this is your first time to Pokhara and you're not sure where to stay, i whole heartily recommend you to stay here.
