A cosy atmosphere in the resort premises. Well appointed-rooms and cottages, a small lawn, greenery all round and a reception with sides opened giving a sense of space. The well-stocked bar and the dining hall form part of a separate block.

There is a spa too but I couldn't make use of it.

Two things stand out--- 1) The location in the heart of Pokara near the lake ( though the lake is not visible from the resort) 2) The ever-smiling and friendly staff who are always eager to please starting from the owner to the sweeper.

An example of their service-- As I found there was no coffee-maker in my room I ordered a pot of coffee in the cold, rainy morning.I casually mentioned the absence of a coffee-maker to the manager. Imagine my surprise, when during check-out, I wanted to pay for the pot of coffee, the manager said that he had made it complimentary since I had pointed out the absence of a coffee-maker.

It rained the whole day and in the evening as the skies cleared, the manager literally pushed us to the terrace so that we could have a glimpse of the snow-capped Himalayas. An ideal place to unwind at Pokara.

Overall good hotel.
Booked thru travel agent for two days but first day after travelling of 8-10 hrs from Kathmandu I was told since hotel is full different hotel is arranged for one night stay. This was not informed to me or my travel agent other wise we would have changed our plan. Hotel arranged was clean but room was too small did not have electricity from 10 to 12 pm.

Complementary dinner was offered to us.

Milk Sachets were expired six month back. Upon request also it was not changed. Shoe polish are not kept in room. Size of Soap provided in Bathroom is too small. Morning only after request Generator was turned on.

Room Tip: Higher Floor New Wing

Thank you for your review regarding your experience during your recent stay in the lake side retreat . Our hotel is very proud of its level of service, cleanliness and quality of its product. We want to apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced. We were fully booked on that day and clearly informed to your travel agent that we would be accommodating you in our sister hotel for the first night. That was the only option we had. Please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience. I appreciate for making us aware about the milk sachet. The whole lot of product was out of date so we couldn't replace another one immediately. But I am sure my staff offered you fresh milk instead.
.
Your feedback is very important to us as this continually helps us improve the facilities and services we offer to our guest. Looking forward to serve you better way in future.

Many thanks

Lovely hotel, great mountain views.
Helpful staff, with good English.
Well situated for an evening walk to lots of restaurants and close to the shops.
Quietly situated near the center.
No pool, but there are other hotels where you can visit their pools, if it is warm enough, and the lake is ok to swim according to the local paragliding crowd who live there.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine

We visited this hotel last year when it was called Base Camp Resort and the place was being renovated. Renovations now almost completed, the change of name far better describes the experience of staying at this lovely hotel. Situated at the quiet end of Pokhara and on the lakeside, the wonderful landscaped gardens in which to relax is the first high spot. Second is the wonderful view of the mountains - go up to one of the terraces and you won't be able to believe your eyes. Third (or maybe it should be first) are the staff, very friendly, very helpful and very efficient - the perfect combination. Rooms are lovely and the food delicious. As we were short of time we had only booked for one night but regretted that we couldn't stay longer. Next year we will.

I stayed here last year when all the work was being done - at that time it was difficult to imagine what the hotel was going to look like when it was finished (if it ever was!). It was worth the wait. I stayed (again) in one of the cottages, but I was shown the new rooms, which are of a very high standard - modern, peaceful, each with an outside space to sit and relax (and drink beer). The space has been used wisely - the buildings are set in landscaped gardens, and you feel a million miles away from the noisy, bustling Pokhara main street. You can order a beer and snacks from the bar, and enjoy while relaxing. The breakfast has improved drastically since last year, and it kept us going until dinner time. The mountain views from the roof are second to none - I've never had such a clear view of Machapuchare in the 8 years I've been coming to Pokhara. Highly recommended, and I will be back next year. Thanks to Tej, Nabin and all the great staff for making this place so special :)

Room Tip: All are good - the cottages give you extra privacy and lots of space.

Pokhara is getting more and more noisy. This was recommended by a friend. It was taken over, renamed and renovated in October 2013 (so note review dates). This place, at the quiet end of lakeside, is not so far from the airport and tourist bus park, and a walkable distance from the busy part of lakeside, should you need to go there. The mountain views are clear, the garden is green and really peaceful. Rooms are modern and clean and beds are comfortable. Would be a perfect place to relax after a trek or just as a quiet, relaxing base to explore around Pokhara.

Room Tip: First and second floor gets great mountain views.

We visited the hotel in the pre-renovation period. The all inclusive trip was quite worth the money. Phewa lake is very close; and also there are a number of eateries, travel agents and shops nearby. The rooms were clear, food decent, staff helpful. All in all, a good stay; and I expect it to only improve after the renovation.
