Yesterday was my first visit to Tiger mountain Pokhara Lodge, even I was heard about it many times before. I felt guilty, why I didn't visit it before. It was one of the unforgettable moment in my life. The view from there is amazing. We can find new home over there. The service of staffs were very friendly. Thank you all of you for making my trip worthy.

Dear rishi2004,

Thank you for your kind review after your visit yesterday. Friendly, welcoming staff are our hallmark as is the intention that the lodge should be a "home from home" for our guests. I enjoyed our conversation and look forward to you visiting again.

Also important to us is our work to monitor and quantify our environmental and social impacts under the Just Report responsible tourism verification scheme - see www.justreport.co.uk - one you might find interesting.

With best wishes from all the team,

Dear artii21,

Thank you for your kind words. We all work hard to maintain the lodge in as natural and authentic stale as possible to minimise environment impacts and integrate closely with the local community. We want all our guests to be able to enjoy an authentic experience of the rich bio- and cultural diversity of Nepal.

May I also take this opportunity to thank all our guests who have taken time out from hectic lives to write reviews of the lodge on TripAdvisor. We all much appreciate the time, perception and thought that characterises the reviews. As a social media, TripAdvisor has established itself as an amazing "window on the world" to allow potential travellers to explore and take informed decisions.

With best wishes from us all,

amazing view from the window with beautiful rooms. the walks around the property which takes you through the lifestyle of local villagers and small schools gives a very different experience of life is up into the mountains.

the best part was the services, they provide a person who can trek with you and make you walk into jungle. Food is the highlight, it will not make you miss home.

Dear Tusharrcmn,

Many thanks for your review and praise. Yes, we have a great team of dedicated team of local expert guides who can unfold the rich flora and fauna as well as the culture of the local area. A walk with Hari is a very social occasion as he introduces friends and neighbours! We can focus on wildlife, culture or just plain exercise in some of the most charming scenery and with the amazing mountain views ever towering above.

Lalu and his team in the kitchen work hard to create simple but high-quality food, both authentic nepali food and western "home-style" cookery. His latest foray is exploring raw food - using the wealth of organic vegetables in our garden and locally to develop a range of signature dishes for healthy eating as the temperature warms up.

With best wishes from all the team,

Marcus, Ishwar, Jhalak, Dol Raj, Lalu and Gyan.

I have been traveling to Nepal for over 15 years for business and on my recent trip I brought my wife and friends for some leisure travel outside of the Kathmandu valley. We were looking for comfort, adventure and eccentricity and we found it in one of the best hotels on earth.

There is nothing that can be said about the views, you must be woken by the exceptional staff with a pot of coffee or tea to watch the sunrise over the Annapurna range with your own eyes. The natural beauty of the area is enhanced by the cottages that give you privacy, a sense of living in a local village, and luxury. How they pull it off is simply amazing.

The food was perfect, the guides knowledgable, friendly, welcoming, and well known in the local villages allowing you to take hikes through the area and be greeted with smiles and joy by everyone.

There is something amazing about the comfort and luxury of this destination hotel, nestled at the end of a very rough road with views that are out of this world. The dichotomy of rustic living (limited power and unlit pathways) and totally pampering by the staff is what makes this hotel worth the price and the trip. Thank you!

Room Tip: Many rooms face the Annapurna range from the balcony so you don't have to travel to the main lod...

Dear Dharma42,

Words fail me - and that's unusual! Thank you for your superb review and insight into exactly what we are striving to achieve - your perception and appreciation are both equally welcome and we offer our gratitude for taking time to write about us on TripAdvisor. You know Nepal so well and have doubtless sampled a 'wide range' (!) or styles of accommodation on your many visits.

It is, as you note, a team effort and honoured to have a very special team indeed dedicated to making a special place even more so.

Do come and visit again when you are next over here.

With all our thanks and best wishes, until next time,

By far one of the most beautiful places I have been to. There is no fault finding. However, it is for people who like their place with a bit of rustic touch, don't mind walking to their rooms in the open. Priced steep it is worth every penny. Try and book the last cottage at the edge - a bit of a walk but grand view of the mountains from your bed! Food is the best I have eaten in Nepal. Lovely people at the lodge. They do need to train few of their "walk masters" but then they know the terrain and take you on the best trails. And the hot water bottles on winter nights are to die for!

Dear SujitBanerjee,

Thank you for your 5 Star review and perceptive insight into our lodge and its operations. Your praise is heartening for all the staff who work hard to deliver top line services to all our guests. Our policy is to keep the environment of the lodge natural and rustic. This has enabled us to increase bird and butterfly numbers and generally enrich the bio-diversity of the grounds - both to the advantage of guests and as part of our wider commitment to Responsible Conservation Tourism, the underpinning ethos of all we do. All our rooms have some mountain views, the best panoramas being from the Lodge terrace and the swimming pool - three 8,000m peaks without any effort!

I'd be very interested in any further comment you might wish to share regarding the guides on walks - we do regular training programmes and I would love to be able to add your thoughts to our next session - if you would like to write to me at marcus.cotton@tigermountainpokhara.com, I will treat what you say with confidence and discretion.

Having enjoyed your first visit, I very much hope we see you again on visits to explore more of Nepal's wonderful beauty and diversity.

With best wishes for 2014 for you and yours,

Marcus, Jhalak, Lalu, Gyan, Dol Raj, Ishwar and all the Team

Fantastic location, excellent concept. I loved the spreading out of the cottages and some have stunning views of the Anapurna mountains. The cottages are consisting of two different rooms, each with a balcony (upper) or a front seating area (lower). Well insulated, very well built. Bathroom is comfortable. Surroundings are incredibly nicely laid out with lots of birds (for those interested), own vegetable growing and the fantastic pool. A warm welcome and friendly interested attitude throughout my stay by the staff. The guides (2x Harry) are excellent and very nice to speak to while exploring the area. The food is excellent and it is nice to understand that the Chef and his team are always on the look out for something new. The Nepali food is top of the bill, very tasty.
In the evenings quite a bit of friendly socializing takes place where guests (50+) exchange their travel experiences and may dress casual elegant.
HK Staff should charge the torches every day as promissed in the instruction-book and that is about the only comment to be made.

Dear Peter J,

Many thanks for your great and perceptive review of our lodge. Point noted about the torches and being better recharged - staff reminded and a regular booster charge on the mains also added to keep everything reasonably bright.

Your praise for the two Hari guides and for the kitchen team has been passed on to them and they all join me in thanking you for your kind words.

I hope you will come back again and explore more of Nepal's wonderful diversity.

My wife and I checked in to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge for a delightful rest and refresher after a recent tour through the Nepal mid-hills. We were warmly greeted, and found the service impeccable. From the hilltop lodge, the views of the Himalayan peaks are magnificent, which helps to make Tiger Mountain a top-of-the-line hotel in Pokhara, well worth the cost and the effort (on a mountain road) to arrive there. Our room was comfortable, with amazing views of the sunrise over the Annapurna peaks each morning. Evenings were equally spectacular with alpenglow on the peaks at dusk.
Tiger Mountain is well managed with both ecological and sociological sensitivity. Great care is taken to conserve Nature and maintain a soft green footprint. And the management is also serious about supporting and giving back a great deal to the surrounding community. And, we would be remiss not to laud the lodge’s first class cook! We were pleased all the way from the great hors d'oeuvres, to the meals and desserts. Pokhara’s Tiger Mountain Lodge is truly first class in every way. It is a stellar place to stay for a few days, away from the tourist crush and bustle elsewhere.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have an evening view of the Himalaya, while rooms on the east side have best...

Dear DonMx,

Many thanks for your stellar review and perceptive insights, appreciating our commitment to the highest standards of responsible conservation tourism. I was only sorry to miss you during your visit but hope we can meet up again soon.

The road is a continuing bugbear - alas, one well beyond our remit although (as you can imagine!) we take every opportunity to remind the authorities of their need to maintain the road properly.

Mountain views have been particularly wonderful this year - and I say that after 12 years on the hill-top - so there is always something new to learn or see in life!

With best wishes for a Happy Christmas and New Year to you both from all the friendly team,

Marcus Jhalak, Dol Raj, Lalu, Gyan and Ishwar
