Being in the jungle you cannot expect 5 star accommodation but this place is clean comfortable and in an optimum position overlooking the river, you can enjoy a cold beer and watch the locals go about their daily life. From this resort you can enjoy a number of activities including elephant rides, ox carts to the local village and traditional canoe rides to visit a crocodile sanctuary. The food provided here is great and above all the staff and naturalists go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable. I have been several times and am looking forward to my next visit!

Room Tip: Askmfor rooms close to the lodge! Not near the empty swimming pool.

This visit was the one part of our tour which I was not relishing. When I arrived my heart sank when I saw the simple lodges, after staying in some wonderful hotels. And to top it all I am not an animal love so had little to look forward to. what a surprise then to be looked after so well by the staff, - and to have such enjoyable food. The staff did everything possible to make our stay memorable in this beautiful location - including warming our beds with hot water bottles .This is a very simple place to stay but offers a welcome second to none. Visiting a local village in an oxcart and meeting the locals was a privilege, - an even greater treat was having the villagers entertain us around a bonfire with their dance and music.
The two lows for me were the elephant ride and the canoe trip. I have never had a good experience on the back of an elephant so this was particularly scary, especially when coming face to face with a rhino. Scarier still were the crocodiles swimming alongside our canoes! But I am sure that my lows were the highlights for most visitors to this unforgettable spot.

You don't stay at Chitwan expecting a 5 star hotel. Chitwan is all about its location on the edge of the national park, which is superb. You stay in basic lodges with no tv or safe. But the rooms are spotlessly clean and there's loads of hot water. The lodges are semi-detached and the walls between are a little on the flimsy side. But after a day in the national park sleep came very easily. The morning and evening buffet food is limited but again only to be expected for such a small resort. And there is free wifi in the main building which is rare in 4 and 5 star hotels in India and Nepal. We spotted loads of wildlife on our elephant safari and canoe ride. If you are visiting the elephants its a great idea to take some small presents for the local children. We took coloured pencils, colouring books and solar torches and it was a delight to see the childrens faces, who thought they'd been given the world.

It may lack the stars of over-rated city establishments but this proved to be the accommodation highlight of our 2 week journey in India and Nepal. The setting is sublime and reminiscent of African safari lodges. Individual chalets have all the basic needs and a hot water bottle at night is a nice and welcome touch. The food is good if limited in choice and the staff very attentive.Free wifi was a welcome bonus after the charges in city hotels

We arrived to Chitwan airport in the morning and were picked up by an arranged taxi cab. The ride was good but a little bumpy as we were driving through villages and roads were not always great. We felt as we were quite far from civilization. When we finally got to the resort we were blown away by its simple beauty and cleanliness. We were greeted & seated outside (our choice) with an amazing view of the river. Staff were soooooo nice, polite and helpful. They made us feel welcomed and catered for our every need. Tour guide was very informative & helpful too. We could not wish for a better trip to Chitwan. The resort & staff members definitely exceeded our expectations. All tours were excellent & scheduled well. Thank you all for a wonderful trip!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!
