“Comfortable hotel in lovely Chitwan”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Stayed here with a Naturetrek group for several days. Hotel was fine - nice room, good food and service. What really makes it worth the long and dangerous drive from Kathmandu is the Chitwan National Park. Hotel is right on the doorstep of this natural gem. We spent time in the park on foot , in jeep, elephant back, and in canoe. Fabulous numbers of birds plus animals such as rhino, sambar, langur mankey, jackal and the rare gharial. Drifting down the Rapti river by canoe is wonderfully peaceful. Our guide Suchit Basnet was brilliant. Overall a fantastic wildlife experience.

The exhausting drive from Kathmandu is forgotten within 5 minutes of entering the property. The welcome drink & warm scented towels refresh you, the sumptuous continental lunch rejuvenates you and finally a short nap in the room readies you for the nature walk or the elephant ride into the forest. On return get freshened up quickly & join the fun & drinks & dinner around the campfire. Then retire early to be up & about at 5 am so that you catch the 1st jeep for the morning safari. Life is beautiful & blissful! Thanks to the warmth of the staff & the great management of Machan Paradise...I'm planning to go back again next year!

Very friendly staff who did everything to make our stay special. The food was very good and the rooms were very comfortable and kept cool in the heat. The pool was very nice and it was fun trying to catch frogs in it.
Activities like the elephant safari too see rhinos and the elephant showers are amazing and unmissable and the chance to ride and elephant bareback, see rhinos in the wild and getting showered by elephants are rare and truly amazing.
Definitely go there.

We visited Machan as a group of 6 adults and 5 children..all of us thoroughly enjoyed the holiday there.the hotel is away from the crowds in a secluded area, feels like u r living in the jungle itself.u have to make pre arrangements to reach the site whether u come by air or by road to chitwan.one thing I would like to bring to the notice of the management is that the signboards showing the way to the hotel are very less or if present very outdated..
On arrival we were greeted by mr Hemant and he briefed us about the activities and the dining.the rooms are situated in two storey bungalows.we were given a room with a queen sized bed n a single bed so accommodating our child was not a problem.rooms are clean, bathroom is decent.we had running hot water which added a plus point to my review.the meals are good and it was compatible for all age group children.love the continental menu n the barbecue.
Loved the elephant ride.the elephant drivers were very enthusiastic to search for animals to show us..saw the rhino n spotted dear, bad luck as we didn't get to see a tiger..the jungle safari in an open jeep was great.best part was the boat ride along the rapti river watching the various birds in a peaceful environment.our guide Surendra was very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.we thank him for making our trip memorable.
The tharu dance by men of the local village was nice and we were encouraged to dance with them which was awesome exercise..
A special mention must be made of the entire staff manning the property...they are all very friendly and helpful, always eager to please with a smile.they were accommodating all our special requests without a fuss..we were all taken care of very well and they made us feel very much at home...

This place is highly recommended for people who want to enjoy the peaceful sanctuary it provides as well as for all the activities they have to offer....enjoy ur s

From the moment we arrived here we were made to feel incredibly welcome. All the staff (who are naturalists, guides, waiters and "chambermaids" rolled into one) were so friendly and eager to please. Their main aim is to make sure that each guest gets the most out of the special experience. We arrived at lunchtime (after a bit of a white-knuckle drive from Kathmandu) and, after a good lunch, were whisked straight off on a jeep safari, followed by a canoe trip past basking crocodiles and thirsty rhinos. That evening we sat around the camp fire and were entertained by local dancers. The next day started with an amazing elephant safari, and then a visit to the elephant breeding centre where we met all the elephants, including the two baby ones. In the afternoon we then had a guided walk spotting birds. Each of the guides was incredibly keen-eyed and well-informed, bringing the flora and fauna very much to life for us. The accommodation is basic but it doesn't pretend to be anything else: you are living close to nature and 5* rooms would simply feel out of place. All in all, a truly wonderful place which we will return to when we can.

If you want to revert back to good ol' days of summer camp and then some, go to Machan Paradise View. The staff is incredible. You will have jeep safaris, elephant riding safaris, and even jungle walks. Also, there's a crocodile breeding farm and canoe ride not to be missed. They will keep you busy with planned activities, feed you plentifully, and give you a sense of being a guest among tigers, rhinos, sloth bears, and magical outdoors.

I visited the Chitwan National Park last week and i was very impressed about the place. I spent 3 nights at Machan Paradise View, it was the right choice. Nice rooms, excellent tour guide, amazing food and very very friendly staff.
I was there with my wife and my little son, everyone were very accommodating and helpful as well.
My wife and I, went for a couple of time on safari with elephants, the staff of the lodge was very kind to take care of our baby. They were professional and always available.
I would strongly recommend this lodge if you wish to visit Chitwan National Park.
