“This place is huge ”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

My first night I went to the snake alley night market. (Huaxi night market). The second night I went to Shinlin. As an American I really preferred Shinlin as it was huge with so many options. I could not get over all the alleys diverse with so much shopping and food. I tried a Taiwanese sausage, chicken on stick and some soup dumplings. I ended with some mango flavored ice. Smells, sights and huge crowds of people will be a lasting memory.

“Interesting night market”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

This is one of the biggest night market in Taipei. The prices might be bit more expensive but they have lots of varieties of items.

Most of the items can be bargained except for food.

The location is quite convenient if you're staying near Taipei main station.

You should visit this market if you're in Taipei...

“street food everywhere”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Crowded with tourists and locals, this place is just another night market to try the street food in Taipei. Love it or hate it, if you are a foodie this is heaven but if you are in for enjoyable dinner, you'd better go elsewhere. A bit too chaotic and not easy to find a proper table for dinner, suggest you go for finger food and eat while strolling. we love the BBQ sausages, sweet pototoes, deep fried chcken, sweet corns, ice-cream.. etc etc. Beware of pickpockets and toilet facilities are lousy

“Average”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

Shilin night market has been relocated and now the night market feels smaller and more cramped with the shops being closer together in a smaller area.

Hoewever, the shops remain almost the same as before with the 豪大大鸡扒 being very popular. The chicken is as nice as before! Do give it a try!!
