“The Real Deal”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 via mobile

You won't find tourist buses lined up gawking. There were a few groups but they were very orderly and respectful as this is a big local temple. You can ease inside and partake in prayers if you like, or take seat in the back with the priestesses studying. A very beautiful temple inside and out, a sanctuary from the bustle outside.

“Prayers”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

We were lucky enough to have our friend take us on tour though the temple as it is his local temple. We have never been to a temple before and found it fantastic. The architecture was amazing and the smell of incense was thick in the air.
As you walk towards the temple you can purchase an offering and some incense for a small price.
Entering the temple you must take note as to NOT step on the step that is in the entry of the temple, you then go and wash your hands in the basins provided.
You enter the temple through the crowd and make your way to the tables in the middle of the temple and place your offering on a red plate.
Swapping your incense for burning ones is the next step and easily done.....as you will see people holding handfuls of sticks already lit.
With a stick of incense in each hand you say your prays to the spirits at the red doors of the temple then cast the LEFT hand incense in the fire pit that you will see.
Then you head over to the god side of the temple and say your prayers to him and also with your left hand cast your incense in the fire pit.
Apon leaving the temple you get your blessed offering and make your way out of this amazing place.
We visited the temple on the weekend and it was very busy, but I think this made for a more enjoyable experience with the think plumes of incense in the air.

“Historical influences”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

Architecture and sculpted pillars, ceilings, door panels and walls are amazing in all these temples here but this one in particular bears significant artwork of Chinese and Japanese influence.
