“Modern hotel however not really worth 200++ SGD”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 via mobile

I was there from 18 July to 22 July 2013 staying on a O room.

Pros: The room was impressive with modern design in dim lighting all around. The japanese toilet is cool with auto function. Staff service I should say, it was great, fast and efficient. Super clean room which is what I love. It was quite thoughtful to provide with MRT card top up card for easy travel. Walking distance to Train station. There are bath salt and some items on second floor, if you need, you can take and use them.

Well, after much comparing on the price of other hotels which provide more the amenities. For 200++ I suppose you could get a better hotel with pool and gym. Furthermore, there isn't a smoking floor or smoking room and it can be quite a hassle, just go down to lobby outside to smoke....Not sure why the roof terrace is not ready. I do hope it can be a smoking corner. The choices of breakfast was really limited, so don't expect too much. Location, even it is near the train station, it is still quite troublesome to transfer here and there to the shopping areas

In conclusion, with the price you are paying.....it's better to do more "homework" on other hotels before choosing a right hotel. For Quote hotel, it may be modern, but still not the best and "value for money". To pay more than 200++, you might consider higher end hotel or hotel that is along Taipei train station or Ximending. Anyway, this is just my thought.

After reading the many positive reviews, we decided to stay 5 nights in this hotel. We had a T room as we wanted a bathtub which did cost a little more. A 10 min taxi ride made our arrival from Songshan train station a breeze. (Most drivers do not know the locale of this hotel, hotel also does not publicise its mandarin name, so tell the driver its beside MoMo Dept Store and some google street view research will help.) Having spoken to a few drivers, they also mentioned that the dept store has recently changed its name so some drivers may also not be familiar with MoMo.

Upon arrival, we were escorted by one reception staff to our room who gave us a 30 sec tour of the room as well as to question you on your ability to operate the various devices within. The room is spacious and clean. We were pretty disappointed that the bathtub that we paid a premium for was only about 3/4 sized of a normal bath. Otherwise, the amusing automated toilet bowl system made time in the toilet enjoyable especially with a warm seat and the bathroom was well equipped and generous with their soap, shampoo, body lotion, toothbrush, etc. If you find that you need additional items, there's an unlimited supply at the H.Q. lounge which you can help yourself to. Or, the room attendant will always replenish these items when they make-up the room. The lounge is for all hotel guests and serves beverages and dry packet snacks/ biscuits which is pretty useful. Staff around the hotel are constant seen to be busy rushing around with their work and has stern looks. Seems to me that their job is pretty stressed!

Wi-Fi connectivity is good and can be accessed everywhere within the hotel including rooms. OSIM massage equipment for borrowing. For five mornings, we found ourselves eating the same breakfast dish for the first 3 days and decided to give up after, too boring and very limited food choices. Breakfast also end at 10 am sharp, staff will rush to convert breakfast to usual lounge settings asap, record time for them as we seen is 10 mins. Overall, the stay in this hotel is a reasonably pleasant one. Room service was of non-existence and lunch nor dinner is served in the hotel except for a limited menu of quick meals. Service staff are generally friendly but without any warmth. Its locale to the nearby Nanjing Rd East MRT station is useful, however Nanjing Road East station is not a good station in respect to the general MRT system.

Overall, I felt this hotel has over-rated reviews, disappointed me as a SLH hotel and not worth paying this much for such a stay.

Room Tip: All rooms have very limited views, so don't even bother. Avoid rooms on 2nd floor where the loun...

While the interior decor of Hotel Quote was nice, when we tried opening up the curtains to our room, there was only a solid wall. Our entire room only had one small window with a prision-like heavy grate.

In addition, we were stuck in the hotel because of a typhoon passing through Taipei and they decided to charge us 33% of the room fee because we overstayed by three hours while waiting for our flight which was delayed. They didn't tell us that they were going to charge us even though we let them know that we were checking out late. Overall, this hotel wasn't worth the money.

Note that there is currently construction right in front of the hotel so there is a rank sewer smell. The rain from the Typhoon caused flooding and the stench was even worse because of it.

A quirky hotel..."nothing" on the outside. Inside modern, with a puzzling "woodland creatures" theme? A moose mascot ( or at least I think it was a moose)--- they have the silhouette on the wall, and sell stuffed moose toys; ceramic bunny rabbits as centerpieces on the lounge tables. But, it IS sort of endearing...and the sum total: this is the CLEANEST hotel I have had the pleasure of visiting, very comfortable bed, great breakfast buffet, spacious, relaxing room (we had the "T" room with 2 twin beds). And, actually, the quirky decor "works"! They arranged car from airport (at additional charge, of course)---which was much appreciated, as it was midnight before we were out of immigration. And, staff was friendly, and spoke English, as well. Cons: no gym or pool, small window, no view (but they can't do anything else with this location, and I almost always have the curtains closed in a hotel room anyway.) WiFi worked seamlessly, and they gave us passwords for the 2 devices we each had, 4 total. Others mentioned issues with lighting---we played with the switches, and had no issues. We will stay here again!

Room Tip: Our "T" room with 2 twin beds was great..can't comment on the others.

Being the Winner of Travellers' Choice Award, we have a high expectation in Hotel Quote. In fact, the avant garde room amenities such as the Bose speaker, Nespresso Coffeemaker, etc and the 24 hr H.Q. Lounge are the most factors that contributed to the award.

But the downside are not less, firstly, the room is tiny and what make it worse is the small window, it is only around 1.2m x 1.5m (WxH) in my estimation, it make us feel suffocated. With limited room lights, we have difficulties in reading book or doing the make up even in morning.

Though the lounge is 24 hr open with unlimited supply in soft drinks or snacks, the choice of breakfast are limited.

The in room WIFI is always disconnected, and we found out the login and password are only for one device finally, you need to ask for extra login at reception.

Surprisingly, not many Taxi drivers can locate the Hotel, unless we said it is next to Momo Department Store.

It would be ok to stay, if you want to walk back to hotel after watching the show in Taipei Arena.

We have stayed Hotel quote last month at O-room under the stay 3-night for a better rate. It would be one of good choices.

1) prior to arrival
we have remarked some request when making the reservation online, they replied me in a very short time. It is quite unexpected coz normally the hotel will read it and note down the requests on their side. Thus, I am delighted to receive their email as acknowledgment regarding my request instead of juz normal automatic booking cfm.

2) warm welcome.
I arrived late at night to meet my partner who checked in earlier. My partner was waiting for me at the lounge when i almost arrived. The front desk seem kept this in mind and when I arrived and mentioned who I am meeting, they swiftly escorted me to the lounge.

3) breakfast
Frankly not too many choices, but good enough. They keep changing some of them daily and the attentive service is nothing to be doubted.

4) room
it is true that the room doesn't have much natural lighting. If u put much concern on this, it will be wiser to select another options.  For us we are fine. Our O-room is big enough with the bathroom at the back of the bed which can be screened with a curtain. Nice I-pod docking, free minibar with plenty of stock ( without alcohol), nespresso machine were well equipped. What has reli bothered me was the selection of TV channels, only few choices available.

5) Location
It is close to the concert hall, juz 5mins walk to the metro station nanjing east road. I arrived by the free-go bus about 30-40 mkms quite easy as long as you inform the driver where to drop off.

Considering hotel quote doesnt have gym and pool plus the concern on natural lighting, It will be good for short trip. We will put the hotel as one of our top choices for Taipei for short trip.

Location is okay, 5 mins walk from MRT Station but interchange line is quite trouble.

The design of public area and room are very nice which is difference from traditional hotel. However, the lighting in the bathroom area is not enough, specially for shaving / make up.

Service of the staff is excellent. They handle the room assignement in a professional way. Always take good care of the request / enquiries. I have to say the staff makes the stay difference. Thank you: Jamie, Stephanie and Chelsea.
