Description: Kanpai insists on great-tasting ingredients, including the three things: 1. Only “grain-fed high-quality beef” is used; 2. “cold chain delivery” from farm-to-table; 3. Use of “aged beef” in pursuit of beef’s true flavor! Fresh, chilled, imported beef is grilled to perfection. Kanpai aims to deliver food that touches people’s hearts and an energy-filled Japanese-style izakaya that recharges its customers after a hard day at work. Kanpai developed interesting activities such as its signature “Kissing Karubi” and “8 o’clock Kanpai” events. These not only let people experience the festive atmosphere and emotionally touching experience unique to Kanpai yakiniku izakaya restaurant but also created a distinctively Taiwanese yakiniku culture.

The food here is fantastic. It is classic BBQ in that you get to cook your own meats. The beef is tender and well-seasoned with the beef tongue a must-try. We had their Wagyu platter and Seafood platter which were good and value-for-money.

The staff are young and friendly and remembered us when we went back a second time. Excellent service.

Only downside is the long wait-time. Do remember to reserve ahead of time and you won't have to wait 2 hours which we faithfully did both times.

We went to the one located on the 3rd floor of the ATT4Fun shopping centre next to Taipei 101.

There is another branch which serves more expensive meats called Kanpai Classic and it is located closeby on the 8th floor at A9 Shinkong Mitsukoshi.

We spent 2,000 TWD. (we had a lot to eat)

RECOMMENDED: This is a place for 20-somethings or at least 20-something at heart. It's a fun place, a place to have a beer, grill a little meat and perhaps even be silly a little. The staff, mostly college age, are great fun and thanks to Mushroom (yes indeed) who spent half the night grilling for us and telling stories in his great English. Black was fun as well and some guy with purple hair.

Fun aside, the beer is cold, the meat is of good quality, the scallops were to die for and you're cooking for yourself (unless Mushroom helps). It's a little noisy and it's a kissing bar (you get some free food for kissing) so it attracts loads of young couples. All in good spirit and fun.

Yes it's a little noisy so don't come in a bad mood (or do wanting it to change). I'd easily return. Adding to the great recommendation - prices are quite reasonable, figure 800-900 per person including drinks. How can you go wrong?

This is a super fun place for dinner. The crew are young and welcoming and full or energy.

The food is fantastic. The meat are very fresh. They give a one-for-one for the drinks on your table every night at 8pm. Yes, beer included.

Couples who kiss for 10seconds get a free plate of pork belly meat.

It's a happy and fun environment to dine in!!!

Well, this was a new one on me. A Japanese style BBQ place where you get free beer for having one of your stories told to everyone (in rapid Chinese) and a free plate of meat for kissing (for 10 loooong seconds) a fellow diner. I was accompanied by two local female colleagues & had a great time. The barbecuing bit itself was quite fun, particularly as I left the cooking of the tricky bits like chicken cartilage to the ladies. I decided to pass on the deliciously named "chicken gristle" and mixture of large intestine and sliced heart. I did, however find the tongue to be quite tasty (!). The point here is to have a good time, drink lots of Japanese beer and get into the spirit of things. If you're looking for fun, then this place should be on your itinerary.
