“Nice Hotel in Taipei”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We stayed at the Gallery Hotel in Taipei for one night as part of our around the island tour in March 2014. This hotel is in the business area of Taipei with a relatively convenient location. The hotel has a nicely designed lobby. The room we were staying was spacious with quality furnishing. We also enjoyed their buffet breakfast which was included with our stay. Overall, it is a fine hotel with modest pricing,

I was upgraded to a suite, which meant I had one of the biggest rooms in a Taipei for gb£60 per night. The room was clean, the bed and pillows comfy and the reception staff jolly and helpful. The breakfast however was appalling, with completely undrinkable coffee, and a pretty poor selection of everything else. The hotel is out of downtown area, being around 5km walking from 101 etc., so don't stay there for a central Taipei experience. I went to the fitness room in the basement (one of the reasons I chose the place), and was clearly amongst the first people ever to have ever used the cheap lifefitness knock-off gear. It is really a hotel for Chinese package tourists, and in that sense quite funny for a European visitor. All in all a mixed bag, but definitely worth the low money.

Very Nice, in the far west end of the city, quite. With the exception of one receptionist who has a voice tone problem, all other service persons are very polite and helpful. I believe the location is more suitable for business stay or group tours with bus transport, but not that much for tourist. Closest subway station is at least 6 blocks away and you can only go to the closest night market by Taxi. Other than that, it is a nice clean hotel

I stayed one night at this hotel as part of a tour package. I was pleased with the cleanliness and clever use of space. Very efficient and modern. Like most Taiwan hotels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and slippers were provided. The rooms also have the high tech toilets with various washing selections and warm seats! Our room had two twin beds which were fairly hard, but all the other hotels we stayed at in Taiwan had similar hard beds so that seems pretty standard.

We stayed in Gallery hotel during 06, April 2013, as part of our Taiwan trip. This hotel is recommended and booked by our travel agency. Location is not so nice, but the room is very clean and has everything. But this hotel has only twin beds, they joined together as we have a boy. the bed is very small but comfortable. The bathroom has warm squat and bath tub.
we just stayed one night and breakfast is good.

The hotel is nice and quiet. However, not much activities around the hotel within walking distance. Only plus point is that if you dont mind taking a short cab ride, you can visit Rao He night market nearby. Room doesn't come with wireless so still using hardwire.

I was invited to Taipei by a friend for a week of sightseeing, a cooking class, and a day of hot springs. She planned the trip and chose the hotel through a Groupon.

The hotel is in an okay location. It is not super central and is about a 10-12 minute walk to the MRT. The MRT was a challenge to find since neither of us spoke Mandarin and the hotel staff didn't really properly direct us although they tried in very broken English.

The rugs in the room are very dirty, however everything else was fine though a bit dated. I didn't go to Taipei for some luxury vacation so it was fine for the kind of trip we were having and also the price was great.

I was a bit put of by the other hotel guests who seemed to be from mainland China. They were constantly taking pictures of me and my friend and I found that extremely rude and wished the hotel staff would've put a stop to that. That seemed to be happening everywhere we go, I really found that totally rude and distasteful, why I don't travel to mainland China, rude people.

Anyway, the hotel was fine and next door is a great coffee and bread place to have gourmet morning nibbles and coffee/tea.
