I had a very enjoyable weekend stay at the Le Meridien Taipei. The hotel is very accessible from the CitiAir bus service which connects central Taipei to Taoyuan Airport- 10 minute walk from the Grand Hyatt stop. The lobby and public areas are immaculate in terms of cleanliness. Rooms are reasonably well-sized and have tea/coffee makers. The hotel itself is in a nice downtown spot- just blocks from Taipei 101 and shopping outlets. The staff were very helpful in terms of providing practical information about visiting major sites. I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Higher floors have terrific views of Taipei 101

This hotel was a major step up from the Sheraton, but no where near the price of the W in Taipei. I will be back. Phenomenal rooms, service and view. Not so good room service. If you are looking for an over the top experience in Taipei, this hotel will deliver.

Having not visited Taipei in over 10 years I was unsure if I was making the right choice when I selected this hotel for my stay; I need not have been concerned, the location was convenient, the staff were helpful and attentive and the facilities did not disappoint.

We stayed three nights and I booked a Junior Suite, with airport transfers by the hotel limousine service. The size of the suite was perfect, we had a fantastic view of the 101 building.

Worth mentioning the breakfast buffet whilst not offering the largest of selections, although there was a fair variety of choice, the quality of the food was exceptionally. Probably the best tasting breakfast I have had in a hotel in many a long year.

The Chinese restaurant also had a somewhat limited menu but, again, the quality of the food was exceptional.

I will return to this hotel again for sure.

Perfect location for business, shopping and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and very well designed (modern style) with an excellent bathroom and a good mattress. The only room problem was the TV set was connected to Bose speakers preventing fine adjustment of volume (either too loud or too low). Front desk staff service was quite pompous, failing to provide the 5 star hotel service that one would expect from Le Meridien --for example when I requested a late checkout and was willing to pay half day fee I was told flat-out and with quite an attitude that they their hotel does not have such a policy! Given that most long-haul flights leave late in the evening I think that they can easily accommodate business travelers, especially since the hotel was not full.

Unobtrusive, excellent service. Everything and everyone just works in this place.

Four nights on a business trip, not much time for recreation but there are restaurants and shops within walking distance.

5th floor bar pleasant but quiet, so lacks atmosphere. Breakfast buffet has food for all tastes, from soup to French toast.

I spent 6 nights at room 610 on a business trip, in terms of location, its 15 mins walk to the business area of Taipei and 10 mins walk to Taipei 101. There is a big department store at the door step and 5 mins walk to the famous elite bookstore flagship shop.

The condition of the room and everything else is perfect, however I would like to point out that the design of the shower and bathroom is seperate, and I can image strangers who share the room can cause embrassment.

Food at the G/F restaurant is alright, I have tried breakfast and dinner buffet there. The taste and the range of food is not top notch comparing to other five stars hotel I have stayed.

What I really like about them is the service, all the staff there are friendly, polite and helpful. I left a luaggage in the room and I only realised it 3 hours after I had checked out. The lady at the reception was trying her best to track it down, and I got it back eventually.

Overall, a hotel which worths 9 out of 10 stars.

The hotel is new and nicely decorated and the location is great. There are so many bars, restaurants, shopping malls around. There is always something to do nearby, early morning or late night. The subway station is very close as well. I think the hotel is catering mainly for the business people becaus there was not a spa and the whole atmosphere was a bit dull. Having said that, i have this opinion as i was on a holiday and wanted to have some fun otherwise there is nothing wrong with the food, cleanliness, rooms or staff attention.
I would happily go back to Le Meridien, it was a nice experience.
