“Comfortable and clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2014

Stayed at the hotel during the NYE's countdown period. Had 2 rooms - 1 quad and 1 triple. The rooms are spacious and clean. Toilets are spacious too with good hot shower. Housekeeping tidied and cleaned daily. The only thing is the lack of wifi in the rooms. However, the hotel has a very spacious lobby which our group called it the living room. So should we require wifi, we would just gather at the living room. This also allowed our group to get together rather than in our own rooms.
The staff are polite. I have met better front desk staff in Taipei. We like the central location and despite the external, the inside of the hotel is up to our standard. Overall a value for money stay.

Service staff are helpful and polite.
Room is clean and decor nice and modern. Room size is small for family room, not much walking space, but this is expected of a budget hotel in Taipei. There was a distinctive sewage smell from the bathroom throughout our stay. The smell got a bit better only if you shut the bathroom door tight. The maintenance staff said that is because the building/piping is too old so there is not much that they can do. Like many small hotels and guest rooms in Taiwan, there are no windows in the room, there is only a small ventilation window in the bathroom if I remembered. Some people may feel a bit uneasy as a result. The pay TV in our family room was not working, upon complaint the maintenance staff checked but could not fix the problem, he mentioned that problem likely due to installation fault which by no means could be resolved easily.
The building that the hotel is located is really worn out and there are only 2 lifts to serve the entire building. On the 2 days that we stayed here, one of the lifts broke down, so you can imagine the wait.
The plus point of this hotel is of its superb location as many others have mentioned.
I would recommend this hotel for short stay and transit, obviously not a choice to relax.

Room Tip: Book the family room early.

Within walking distance from Taipei Main Station and the airport shuttle.

Dingey shady exterior, the air inside the hotel smells like a mix of rubbish and stale ciggarette smoke. The room is kept clean by a nice team of obasan, complimentary water, hot drinks and snacks are replenished daily.
Our shower room was right next to a window that leads to a corridor (no view). The window was covered by a drawn shade. One day we came back to find out that the window was open.
Rooms are not sound proof. You can hear doors shutting and people walking down the corridor.

For the price that we paid, definitely not worth it.

The place is very new with clean and modern room and bath with rainfall shower head. Rooms with two double beds were hard to come by during summer vacation time. Ours also has a dorm sized fridge, a desk and a chair in addition to the two beds and a night stand. It has no closet or sofa. Unlike many hotels in Taiwan, breakfast is not included but there are plenty of places for food or late night snacks. The hotel has a back entrance/elevator. From there right around the corner is a Starbucks, a necessity for fighting jetlag. Across the street from Starbucks is a nice bakery with fresh goodies hot from the oven. McDonald's is also close by.

Bottled water is provided everyday with the cleaning service. The hotel lobby also has a water dispenser for cold and hot water. There is only one room key card for each room It has the room number and the hotel address on it. You are asked to turn in the key card when you're not in your room. I found it odd at first but had no issues with security.

The hotel provides many toiletries, including the ones not usually seen in American hotels such as razor, Q-tips, dental floss, sanitary napkins, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste. But hair conditioner is not one of the items. This is the case with four other hotels I stayed on this trip in Taiwan.

Room Tip: This hotel is on the 5th floor. If you have trouble finding rooms but like the location, there are...

The exterior may look very shady, but it is very different once you reach the 5th floor where the inn is. Directly above Taipei Main Station - Exit Z8 and you can see the building.

The room looks exactly like a 3-star hotel room with facilities that came in the room. However, the minus points are rooms arent sound proof, got woken by kids running and shouting along the corridor as early as 7am. No laundry services in there, have to pay for such services as they outsource the laundry. Apart from that, everything is very pleasant and welcoming.

Stayed for 2 nights with kids on a family vacation. Took a cab from Taoyuan airport and the cabby couldn't find the hotel. It is tucked away on the 5th floor of a mixed used building. The 1st impression from street level is rather dodgy- like those hourly rated hotels not suitable for family.

When the lift reaches the lobby on level 5, we seemed to have travel to a nice cosy hotel- the photos you see on the website.

The rooms are new and chic although there's peepholes into the toilet. Make sure the blinds are well positioned. The toilet doesn't allow you to throw soiled toilet papers so you have to throw in the rubbish bin. The toilet chokes (as reported in other reviews) so pray it doesn't happen during your stay. Walls are thin so you can hear neighbours and people walking along the corridor. Bed, air on, amenities are good and rooms clean.

Location is good. Nearest exit to Taipei train station is Z8. Lots to eat and shop at train station mall and very convenient to spring off to other attractions.

Would not stay hear again. Will try other hotels. I like Caesar park where I stayed on previous trip. Choking toilets are a real putoff.

On the first day of my visit, I found that I took the wrong luggage (look alike) back to the hotel and was in a state of panic. The hotel staff, Jessie and her colleague were very patient and understanding. They helped me to locate the relevant airport authorities to retrieve back my luggage. I'm impressed with the extent they put up with my requests for assistance and helped me with the phone calls and fax. They were very efficient and went an extra mile in their service (without any incentive) which was out of our expectation for a small hotel. I would recommend my friends to stay in this hotel.
