Owner description: In 2007 the Taiwan Cultural-Creative Development Co. Ltd assumed responsibility for the renovation and operation of the Park and renamed it Huashan 1914. An organically creative environment has been growing ever since. Huashan 1914 now serves as Taipei's primary creative arts center and a hosting ground for Taiwan's most significant cultural activities. Examples include the Simple Life music festival and the BiBo student design expo. Today Huashan 1914 is not only the heart of Taiwan's creative pulse, but also a bridge to a unique architectural past.

Huashan creative park is one of my favourite places in Taipei. Why? It doesn't have such a commercialized feel about it, as do many of the other attractions. It seems young, artsy people really come here to hang out and enjoy themselves.
It is also a really nice place to hang out during summer evenings and have a beer, because the compound is closed off from the streets.
There is also a cinema showing art house movies!
Last but not least, the old factory makes for a really nice background! I really recommend this place!

Similar to songshan but more authentic and smaller in size. There is only a few exhibition hall around the park. You can go for a foreign movie if you are not interested in exhibition. Or go for a coffee at the cafe around the area. You will see student taking photograph or recording video around the park. There was couple taking wedding photo shoot as well.

Took a friend's advice during my trip to Taipei last December and headed here for a look one Saturday afternoon. It was easy to locate and although we did not manage to attend any of their arts/film screening events, it was worth walking around. There are flea markets and free performances on weekends - I recall enjoying a Taiwanese percussion troupe performance. Lots of interesting things to look at and buy, and plenty of cafes to chill out at. There's a park right next to the converted brewery where the Taiwanese brought their dogs out for a run. My friend's Taiwanese friend also brought us around to check out some of the shops - I especially loved the boutique book and knick-knack shop VVG Something, and wanted to buy everything.

Recommended by locals, the place is a delight to visit. Besides many handicraft items, there is a album store on level 2 that sells mostly local collections. There are many quaint food options and cafes within the area. There is also a place to screen the local non mainstream movies.

this is a nice renovated space for the arts and design but it's a bit too clean and tidy for my tastes
