So we booked this place for our first night in Taipei. Since we'd just arrived, we had no mobile phones or net access but we assumed that we could just arrive and check in as it was after check in time. We got a cab to drop us off and the place was deserted. There was a sign with a mobile number to call but I'm sure we're not the first travelers who didn't have a phone! We sat on our luggage for quite awhile in the Taipei drizzle and went on a couple missions to try and find a sim card. About half an hour later a guy lent us his cell and we rang the number and were told the room would be ready at SIX. It was 2:30. She gave us the door key and told us to leave our luggage and take off til the cleaner had come and gone. We went in... the place was pretty grim and all of the rooms were messy though there were no signs of life. We used
the wifi to book somewhere else and left!
