Caesar Park Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Taipei. The hotel has an underground access to the MRT system, the Taiwan fast train, main bus station, some malls, even undeground shops and restaurants. It makes sight-seeing and shopping a lot more convenient specially when it's hot outside. The hotel lobby is fairly updated. It doesn't look old at all. Although the room where we stayed in had a "vintage" design (translation: not updated), it was spacious and fairly clean. Wi-fi internet was free. The staff are really helpful and polite/friendly. They have a gym, sauna, and a roof garden. It was absolutely worth it. PS. Booking a hotel with www.hotels.com is also a great discovery for us. It was fast, easy, and reliable. We will be using this website more often for our trips.

Booked on Agoda for $160 US per night. Supposedly a deluxe suite
Received a room from 1950's
Outdated furniture Tiki type bar in the living room from my parents old 1950 basement
Some lights did not work, cabinet drawers fell off the tv stand.
No wi fi though they assured me ahead of time. Had to use the lobby.
Turquoise tub sink and tile. Hair in sink.
They had the nerve to send us to the VIP 9 floor for check in. A joke.
Agoda website shows an updated lovely room. Maybe we received this room because we are not Asian.
We are frequent travelers and seldom complain.

Booked this hotel for the family as the location beside the Taipei train station enable easy access to TRA, HSR and the MRT which we used very frequently during our stay in Taiwan. Great location as mentioned by many. Loved the warm and approachable service by the staff (then again, I experienced warm service by most of the Taiwanese service staff). Great coordination job by the porters and concierge as we were a large family with 9 pieces of luggage and 2 separate airport transfers at different time. Hotel was a little inflexible when it comes to check in and check out time. Didn't experience such inflexibility with other hotels in Taipei. Nice refurbished lobby and corridor but the rooms aren't. Rooms were very spacious but seriously in need of renovation especially the bathrooms. Overall, a comfortable stay with a great location if you don't mind the tired looking rooms.

We and another family stayed in ths hotel in August 2011. The rooms were big and the toilets clean. We stayed in a room that had obviously been recently been redecorated. I guessed the upgrade was still going on as paint smells wer everywhere , plus the drill noises.

Underneath the hotel is a small food court that offers breakfast at about US$3 that included a burger and coffee. So there is no need to pay for the expensive hotel breakfasts. The food court also has links to the subway system so even if it rained (that happened with us) you could get on the subway. The station is right in the centre of Taipei so going anywhere by subway was not a problem. The subway in trun was connected to an underground shopping arcade that had bookshops, restaurnats and shops selling all sorts of things.

Behind the hoetl are numberous food stalls and restaurnatn so there will be no problem with eating andf drinking.

And it is cheap, when compare to other 4-5 star hotel.

When you go to this hotel, it is cheapest to take the public express bus at the airport, destination "Taipei Station". The bus literally stopped right opposite the hotel at the last stop. So you would not miss it. And it is much cheaper than by the taxi. Time is more or less the same as the bus got on the expressway once out of the airport and stopped only a few stops.

Highly recommended

I have stayed at this hotel countless times over the years but have never bothered to review it. What everyone says about this hotel being outdated and overpriced is indisputable; Caesar Park has a captive market of travellers who want to be near H S R, intercity coaches, and needs the backupbof business centre services when their notebook computers act up invariably choose this property. That is why the hotel can neglect the refurbishment of its rooms yet continue to jack up room rates all these years.
I am writing this review now because my key card required to activate elevator access to guest floor was deactivated before the official checkout time of noon. I rushed back to the hotel at 11.30am wanting to pick up my stuff and check out, only to find myself locked inside an elevator due to a prematurely deactivated key card. Got myself out only after pressing emergency button and a lengthy explanation to a staff member via the elevator intercom, who had the elevator doors opened and used an access card to send the elevator to my floor whereupon I had to get a chambermaid to open my room door with a masterkey.

This was a very nice hotel. We were upgraded to a suite and loved it. The MRT system in Taipei is fantastic and this hotel has access to it in the basement. The internet access was great. The staff was very helpful and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed there 4 nights while visiting the city. Booked superior room with free Internet from Hotels.com. Rooms are clean but a lit bit small comparing to American standard. The internet is fast enough to check your emails and browse the web. I didn’t try the WiFi because the hotel provides internet cable. The bath in our room is really small. I can barely move my body if I leave the door open. However, the bath room in my parents’ room was bigger than ours. Both bath rooms definitely need a major renovation because they are kind of outdated.

The hotel has a small but decent lobby. Door man always there to open the door for you. The service staffs of the hotel were great and very polite, especially front desk. Check in and checkout was very fast and hassle free.

This hotel has an unbeatable location that can bring you to anywhere of the city. It has its own entrance connecting the Taipei Main Station. The airport express shuttle arrival terminal is right cross the street so you have to use the underground to get the hotel. At first, you might get a lit bit confused because of the complicated underground street system and a lit bit painful if you have several pieces of luggage to drag, but after several times hanging around, you will find it is convenient because you can find a lot of restaurants, coffee shop, and some McDonald, 7-eleven around there. The departure terminal of the airport shuttle is located in a different place but still nearby.

We didn’t use the hotel’s restaurants because there are so many choices out there. Right in front of the hotel, there is a food court center on the second floor of the Main Station called Breeze Taipei Main Station. You can find a lot of local foods there. Another two choices are: basement of the Breeze Center, right next to the Hotel and the Food Square right underneath the hotel. If you have an Asian stomach, 7-eleven is a good choice for your breakfast because it servers very good stream buns.

I’m not sure it’s a good place for a business but it’s definitely a good place for family trip. It will be one of my best choices for the next time to visit the lovely city.
