The hotel is huge/big.It's a big building. However, it's quite old and tired, definitely need some renovations. Also, it's next to the Taipei Arena, if you are going to any concert/function there, it's highly recommended.Otherwise, I think there are many other hotels in Taipei are better, better environment, better service, better price, better location.
There are also some shops and malls nearby, but they are all VERY quite! We are the only human-being in the mall except the staff. And it takes around 10-15mins to get to the train station which I think it's too far away for me, especially if you are carrying your achievements from shopping.

Stayed here for 4 nights in may,its a huge hotel with enormous lobby, the rooms are large ,we had a lot of issues with ours and the management team were very understanding, offered us upgrade, free breakfast and taxi to train station on last day, special thanks to Akiko the general manager from Japan who personally greeted us on leaving, the whole place is currently undergoing work and will be back to its former glory then, its the staff that really make this place, the restaurants are fabulous and buffet is well priced, plenty of shops on site and a handy 7 eleven store too, loads of restaurants close by and a great food court next door, the metro is around the corner 15 mins walk, very easy to use for taipei 101,and only 15 mins to THSR station, the lifts are amazing and very fast, and they have a great taxi service too, overall we enjoyed our stay and yes i would recommend this hotel but get them renovations done quick!

Room Tip: Get a room in renovated part of hotel!

The hotel is located in a good neighborhood only 10min walk away from the Nanjing Road East MRT station. There were lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Currently the exterior is partially under renovation and expected to be completed in 2014.
The hotel lobby seemed to be renovated already, yet the upper levels and the corridors still looked quite old.

Our triple room was in fact a windowless room which I wish had been properly indicated in the website. It felt strange that there was no visibility to the outside. ( I now realize that if the room description doesn't mention about the room view, there is a high chance that it is a windowless room. From the hotel floor plan, it looked like there were many of these rooms). The beds were on the hard side, and pillows were too flat. Some of the wallpaper looked like they were about to fall off. The tiny tv was a fairly old model and positioned at one end of the room. In comparison, the bathroom was in much better shape and was clean.

I would not stay at this hotel again and definitely not recommend to take any of the "non-renovated " windowless Triple room.

My friend and I stayed for a few nights at this hotel and it is nicer than I expected but the service wasn't too good. Housekeeping knocked early in the morning and we told them come back later because we were still sleeping. When we finally went out and put the please clean sign on the door, we went exploring the city for over 6 hours and came back to a dirty room....they never cleaned the room after we left around 1pm....when we came back we didn't feel like waiting for the room to be cleaned so we just asked for new towels which they provided almost immediately. Overall it was a good stay, the pillows could use some replacing thou, those pillows weren't that great

Kind of disappointed with the price paid.
They have renovated and non-renovated room. I paid for renovated room.
The room is basic but new.
Nothing in mini bar, no fresh fruits in room and internet speed is average.
Breakfast is average. Simple and limited range of variety food.

Hotel Lobby is big but with very limited seat.

Location is reasonable good. Near Nanjing East Road MRT which is around 10 min walk away. The Hotel is connected with shopping mall and have 7-11 in the Hotel lobby (rear).

It is a good hotel for big groups, but yhe lobby has not many seats and a lot of people was always standing waiting. The personnel at the reception is very nice and at the concierge are very helpful giving a lot of advises in where to go and how to reach places. The room I had was very big but cold, I had to ask for an extra heater. The bed has avery hard mattress. There are not enough plugs to put in charge your own devices, and especially no plugs close to the bed, in my room a lot of electric wires where messed up behind the furniture (it looks quite dangerous). The bathroom is very big, there are bath products and hair dryer. Breakfast is average, a lot of choice but too small if there is a full booking, Ihad to line up for long time to get either food and coffee. There's a small pub at the first floor quite nice, and Outback restaurant and 7 eleven connected to the hotel. In the neighbourhood there is everything, it's a quite commercial area. I didn't check tha sauna and the gym but people I was with told me it was good. I'll probably won't chose that hotel again, unless I'm part of a group.
