First of all, Taipei has one of the easiest metro systems to navigate. If you're worried about being away from the hustle and bustle, don't worry! Shillin Night Market is literally at your doorstep so we were a little worried about noise levels as it becomes very busy at night. However, we had absolutely no noise disturbances whatsoever. Aside from the night market, there are several bubble tea shops, 24 hour massage parlors (legitimate; not seedy), a Starbucks that opens early, the Modern Toilet restaurant for quirky travelers, convenience stores nearby, pharmacies, a few other restaurants, and very close to the metro. (7 minute walk) The Night Market sells really good fresh fruit, especially the mangoes if you catch them in season. We became addicted to the 50 Bubble Tea shop that's on the corner as they were cheap and addictive!
Electronic room keys are provided but only one so if you're traveling together and you want to do different things, you then have to sort things out. Your room key is used for both your room and the entrance to the apartments.
As far as staff goes, the manager is very friendly. However, she may not always be around but you can contact her freely over the phone.
Inside the apartment, the decor is minimalist but nice. There's a flat-screen TV in the middle, a mini-fridge, sizable closet space, a mini kettle (but with no cups), and a spacious and luxurious bathroom. The shower was big with good water pressure. Linens and towels are changed every other day. There's a tiny washer/dryer in the bathroom. You'll definitely want to turn on the air conditioner. Wi-fi was excellent.
