“Decent hotel; good location”
Reviewed 7 April 2013 via mobile

Stayed for two nights, as an individual.

Room is compact, cosy enough to fit a couple of two. Toilet only able to fit one person at a time, as its quite tiny (and of a material akin to those you find in airplane toilets). I'm particular about water pressure, and this was great.

Staff don't really speak English, though they are proficient in Japanese (since this is a hotel primarily for jap tourists). Also thought they could have been more pro-active about sharing more about tourist attractions, what there was in the neighborhood, etc.

I thought the location was very good. Lots of cafes and eateries nearby, as well as convenience stores. Also a couple of banks so you can change money if you are running low. 5-10 min walk from the metro station (minquan road west if I'm not wrong) along which two metro lines run.

Overall, pretty good value for $$. Would recommend if all you want is a clean and comfy bed to sleep in at the end of the day.

This is a cute hotel. Good for business traveler and budget tourist needing a short place to stay. This hotel targets japanese market. The rooms are really small. I think it's only good for 1 person. It may be too cramped to fit in 2 people in a room. The staffs are friendly and can speak a little english at least compared to other budget hotels. The best part if their toilet. Whether hotel public toilets or in your room they have the automatic bowls :D
Cons:
Mattress of the bed is hard but linens are crisp and clean.
Pillows are comfortable at least.
Breakfast is the same japanesse food everyday and you can't order anything until 10am.

Room Tip: Limit your stuff in the room it will cramp your room space.

This hotel targets for Japanese tourists. The toilet is in Japanese style and some staff can speak fluent Japanese. Rooms are clean but quite small. Staff are polite and the check-in time is relatively earlier (12:00) than other hotels (14:00 or 15:00), which is more convenient for guests arrive early. A Japanese restaurant inside hotel and the price is not expensive. Not a bad option if don't want to go outside for meals. The hotel is located a bit far away from tourist area, but it's near metro station, about 2 mins walk. Not too many night life but still convenient to go out if you don't mind to take metro.

Tiny clean efficient Japanese run hotel. Staff speaks intermediate English. General rule is that younger Taiwanese are better English speakers. Cost $100 per night. This is an older area of Taipei that I really liked. Recommended trip: leave out of the hotel and turn left. Walk past the modern building and turn left again and walk past Family Mart and go straight ahead past the small parks on the left and right. And you can have a great outdoor breakfast of noodles and oysters at a stand straight ahead ($1.50) Get there early and see some Taichi in the park ( I had "breakfast" at six am). The DaLongDong area is one stop along the subway away from the stop at the hotel. No wireless internet in room. Just Ethernet cord that worked 90% of the time for me. I got wireless in the lobby. Starbucks and metro to the right out of the hotel.

Room Tip: Although rooms are non smoking, if you don't like the smell of cigarrettes, smell the room befor...

A nice hotel with free wired internet. This hotel is a Japanese franchise. But the staff speak English and are polite. Rooms are small but comfortable. The nearest metro station is Minquan West Road and that's where the airport bus dropped me off.

This is a Japanese franchise hotel, where many Japanese business people stay. It is conveniently located near a MRT station and on the main bus lines. While the size of the single room I stayed was ninimum. It had a satellite TV, a tea pot, and free ADSL internet connection. The bath room was so-called a "unit-bath" with a Japanese style deep bath tub, which may not be attractive for Americans and Europeans.

The facility was not impressive, and the quality of the staff was about average with many of them proficient in Chinese, English and/or Japanese. The airport transport was NT$1200 which was much cheaper than similar services offered by nearby hotels.

Taipei has lots of high quality hotels. However, if you just want a decent place to stay, this hotel would be a good choice.
