There are many ways to get to Yangmingsan. We took the minibus 8 from MRT Shipai station, which is about 100 m on the right side after exiting from the station. It is important to note that on a weekday, there was only one bus per hour, departing on the hour.

This mini bus takes you directly to Zhuzihu(last stop) so it is really convenient. At Zhuzihu, there were many flower farms with fields of calla lily. Depending on the landscape of the farm, the photo opportunities were quite extensive. It is easy to spend an hour walking around any of the farm and taking photos - even picking calla lily for NT10 each.

There were a few local restaurants on the main road serving local cuisine. We particularly liked the mountain vegetable that they all served. The prices were unbeatable.

If you visit Yangminsan in March /April, make sure to visit Zhuzihu for the Calla Lily festival.

Afterward, we took the minibus 9 which headed to Shin Beitou for a hot spring dip! What a great way to relax!

The bus trip to go up Yangmingshan was quite a nightmare especially on a weekend. Peoples are everywhere. But the calla lilies were beautiful, but to see the truly beautiful farm, you will have to go to 苗榜 MiaoBang, flowers there were impressive, but the catch is, there's a minimum spending of NTD$150 per person which you can use the coupon/voucher to purchase lunch.

A very special place in Taipei city, a great park, which is clean, neat and very well looked after. One can spend a day there, feeling completely relaxed and safe and alone.

Maybe it was just bad timing, but this was the worst experience during our visit in Taiwain. Yangmingshan was supposed to be beautiful but that day is was VERY COLD (not just cold), windy, and it was raining. Didn't see any Sakura. Only bits of flowers that were left on the tips of the trees. Maybe we had too high of an expectation... Couldn't get any information either since we couldn't speak Chinese and the people working there couldn't speak English. No written English information either.

Maybe next time I can give a better review for this National Park.

Staff tried to be helpful but unfortunately speak very little English. I found the website not very informative and was disappointed that I could not find the way to drive to the Flower clock . Instead we park our car at another part of Yangmingshan and walked about 1.5 hours to the Flower Clock. Envy those people who drove directly to the place as we did not have much time to spend there. We took a couple of photos and have to rush off to return the car. The staff at the Visitor Centre could have directed us the way to drive there if they could communicate with us in English. Unfortunately, we wasted a lot of time looking for the places of interest. I have to get 2 maps - one in English and one in Chinese and have to match up the sign to find the places. My advise is to research well before you go there. Taiwan is harder to get around than as most places is not sign posted in English. I was surprised as I did not have any problem getting round China.
