I booked a deluxe double room for a 5 night stay for 2 Adults and I child at this hotel as the price was attractive and that it was near the Zhongshan high School metro station. However, upon checking in, the lady hotel manager wanted us to upgrade by paying extra TW2500 so that my daughter could have breakfast and extra bed as they claimed that a deluxe double room only entitled us to 2 breakfasts. She was quite curt when we told her that it was our first night of our 12 day viist to Taiwan and we do not have the budget to upgrade. She claimed it was the fault of my booking agent for not advising me accordingly. When i told her I will definitely give my feedback on this matter, she actually upgraded us to a suite for reasons unknown to us.maybe the hotel already has enough negative reviews. The suite was a self contained apartment with microwave and a water dispenser. There was a living room with a television and we had a very comfortable stay there. However, the breakfast offered was really pathetic comprising of porridge and a few pickled dishes, fried noodles. They only served white bread with 3 pots of butter, jam and chocolate spread, coffee ,milk and tea. However, there were a slightly wider spread on weekends. The cafe was on 9th floor and really very depressing as it was just a windowless room next to the laundry room. The entrance to the hotel was univiting and can be easily missed as the signage was not clear. It is basically a budget hotel not suitable for family with young children. This hotel should be blacklisted as it gives first timer visitor to Taipei a very negative impressive of Taiwan and yet I see hotel booking agent like Agoda, Tiger airways and many others promoting it on their webstie. The pictures you see in the website is really most misleading. Dont be fooled by the price which actually came up to about S$130 per room with taxes added in. with this price, I was able to stay in accomodations far superior to this in nantou and kaoshiung. My recommednation: blacklist this hotel, it is just not a good choice.
